A/N  There's a little scene with you and Asher, but it's not too much, so don't worry. Enjoy!

I slowly ascend the staircases that would eventually lead to my apartment. What Reagan talked about earlier has been the only thing occupying my mind. The reality of it all has just gotten me stumped.

For the first time ever, I hesitate opening my door. I don't even know if Asher is home yet,  but if he is then we have some serious talking to do.

Taking in one more, and very deep, breath, I turn my key and unlock the door. I push it open slowly, hearing the slight creaks of the hinges, and search the visible areas of my home from the open door. It was all clear, but I could only see the couch in the living room.

I gradually make my way into my apartment, cautiously looking around for any sign of Asher. It was all quiet, letting me believe that no one else was home. Maybe he left for work already, even though it's a couple hours before he was supposed to leave. I thought he had the evening shift today, but I could be wrong. His shifts constantly change from morning to evening to overnight, those ones I hate because then I'm left without my cuddle buddy. However, I just take the pillow he sleeps on and hug that to my chest. It's a good enough replacement for him, a close second I guess.

Involuntarily, I breathe out a sigh of relief. I honestly did not want to have that talk with him at the moment. I need some time to think about it all some more and then talk about it, that way it can all go in a civilized manner instead of me blurting things out from the top of my head.

I swing the door closed and walk further into my apartment. There was a loud thud when the door clicked closed, and that seemed to awaken the creature.

"Hey babe, is that you?" Asher calls from our room.

I internally cringe at the thought of having the dreaded conversation with him after all. "Yeah," I choke out.

Turning towards the door to our room, I see Asher walking out with a sweet smile spread across his features. The sight of his sparkling eyes and joyful posture as he comes towards me nearly vanished all of my inner debate.

I smile back at him and meet him halfway across the room. He brought me into a gentle kiss, wrapping his strong arms around my waist comfortingly. I reciprocate the kiss happily, sliding my arms around his shoulders so I could hug him after the kiss.

"How'd the meeting go?" Asher asks as he pulls back. He kept me in his arms, waiting on my response patiently.

"It went well," I smile up at him, hoping he wouldn't detect anything off about me.

Alright, Y/N, let's see how well your acting actually is.

"Good! So you got the part?" he asks hopefully.

I nod once and smile, "Yes, I got the part."

"Yes!" Asher picks me up and spins me around in his arms, earning a surprised squeal from me. I grasp onto his shoulders for support and accidentally giggle at his actions. He gently set me down after he turned around a few times and smiles widely at me. "Ah, Y/N, this is so great!" he exclaims.

His contagious smile emitted a real one from me, and I couldn't deny the twitching muscles to form into their desired appeal. I lean in and capture his lips in a slow and short kiss. I relish in the moment, not knowing where our soon-to-be-discussed conversation will lead to.

We pull apart and settle our foreheads against each other. I keep my eyes shut, embracing in the loving aura that's settled around us. After a couple of silent seconds, I hear his smooth voice speak up.
