I instantly let go of Camila, but her hand that was on my waist stayed where it was. We both turned our heads to look at the girl that had walked in on us, her face full of shock.
"Um, we're kind of busy here," Camila said, a little bit of sass filling her tone.
"Camila," I scolded her in a whisper, slapping her thigh harshly. A loud smack sounded in the quiet room.
She hadn't said anything else, just stood there looking at us in shock, disgust, and I'm pretty sure I saw hurt in her eyes, too.
I stood up, Camila's hands falling out of contact with me. "This is, uh," I struggled, looking to Camila for an explanation. There was really only one to say, though I really didn't want to tell her that.
"I know what this is," she scoffed, leaving the lounge in a hurry.
I heard Camila whisper something under her breath, but I couldn't quite make it out. I turned to her, feeling pretty flabbergasted about the whole situation that just took place.
"I think we should try again," Camila said, completely disregarding the fact we just got interrupted.
"Camila, you said that no one would be back yet."
"No I didn't, I just thought we were going to be fine," she shrugged her shoulder. "I was wrong, but that doesn't matter."
I was offended, nervous, and worried, but I knew I didn't have the right to be. I mean why was I feeling this way?
I'm not sure, but I knew I had to go after her.
"I'll be right back," I muttered before hustling out of the lounge.
"Y/N! What are you doing?" Camila yelled after me, but I ignored her.
I found my way off the bus, searching the area for her. I saw her small frame walking in the distance, away from the buses.
Running to catch up to her, I found myself rounding a corner into a small, dark area between two buildings. She was leaning her back on a wall, looking up at the night sky.
I cautiously made my way closer to her and sheepishly announced my presence, "Lauren?"
Her green eyes snapped towards me, probably not expecting me to come after her. She let out a heavy sigh, turning her head away from me and looking down.
"Go away, Y/N."
Her words struck me harshly, even though she spoke so calmly.
"No," I rejected, walking even closer to her. As I got closer, I heard her sniffle. "What's wrong?" I asked, quickly closing the gap in between us. I placed my hand on her shoulder but she shrugged me off, giving me her back.
She didn't answer me, but instead just stayed silent.
"Lauren, talk to me." I took another step, invading her personal space but I didn't care. I just wanted to know what was bothering her.
All she did was sniffle again, ducking her head down even further from my sight.
I placed my hand on her shoulder again, not letting her shrug me away this time. "Lauren, please," I begged.
"It doesn't matter," she said, soundly a little nasally.
"Yes, it does," I responded surely. "Something is bothering you, Lauren, and you need to fix it. Let me help you."
