"Men..these are..monsters..at our door..BEASTS!" Bellowed the king, as he stared into the grim faces of maybe 200 soldiers. All these soldiers had lost their family, their friends, their faith..the King however, was determined to repair at least one of those things. "Outside those doors, what was once family, what was once allied, even enemies, are no longer that. They are just...monsters..hoping to spread their sickness, their rage...We must not succumb." Cried the King,he held up a photo of a beautiful woman, the Queen. His queen..his wife. "She was taken by the beasts. She was stolen, from me. We have all had someone stolen." One by one each soldier held up a photo of what they had lost. Who they had lost. As each soldier pocketed their picture, the King said,

"In our darkest hours, our brethren have been lost to us..and we cannot retrieve them. We will free them, from this curse..this curse that has turned wives into demons, sons into ghouls and dogs into beasts..we will free them..we will kill them..and i," said the king, lifting his crown off of his throne,"will fight by your side. FOR THE KINGDOM!!" He roared,

"FOR THE KINGDOM" they echoed. The king turned to a pale skinned man on his side,

"Logarius" said the King, solemnly as his soldiers raced outside to prepare for the ride into yharnam.

"Yes my king" replied Logarius, sweeping his jet black hair behind his ears.

"You are to stay here."
"What?! Why!" Demanded Logarius. "No, i am your best knight! You-"

"Your are my best knight," replied the King. "And here in this castle, rests families,children..survivors..You..i am charging you with my legacy...while i am Gone..you will Rule my castle." Said the king, placing his hand on the knights soldier. "You are my best friend. I trust you more than i ever trusted anyone, other than my wife. You must protect the helpless. Promise me..promise me you will not give in to fear..you will hold onto your faith.." Pleaded the King, eyes slowly starting to water, as he removed his crown from his head. He handed it to Logarius. "Promise me"

Logarius, blinked back tears, as he took the crown from the King. "Ok", he said, placing the crown on his head.

He watched as his king turned and walked out the doors of his castle, never to be seen again. "I promise."

"Wake up, young Hero" urged a soft feminine voice. The man opened his eyes, to see a lady gazing into his eyes. She was beautiful. Her skin, so beautiful and unreal.

"Wait..." Said the man. He lifted his hand to her face, and gasped"your..skin..it feels like-"

"Yes.."said the woman."like Porcelain...i am a Doll" she said, softly running her fingers through the man's hair. "And you are a hunter..tell me..what is your name?"

The man looked at her, still trying to grasp the concept of a talking doll. He opened his mouth to say his name, but he choked. "I-I dont...remember" he said, finally.

"Ah a hunter with no memory..but a hero nonetheless" soothed the Doll.

"How can you be so sure?" Asked the Hero.

"This place, it is the Hunter's dream. It exists outside of time, as a place for a hunter who has given himself over to the hunt." The man sat up, and turned to face her.

"The hunt? What is that?" He asked, flustered.

"Ahh do you hear that, young hero?" She grew silent."pit...pat...pit...pat...pit..pat..pit pat pit pat pit pat. Your heart grows excited at the sound of the Hunt.." She teased

"But what is it?" Urged the Hero. "What does it have to do with me and my memories?"

"I cannot answer that, but i can tell you how to regain your true self, if that is what you seek."
