"Love comes from the most unexpected places"
- Kim Carnes

Summer, September (1983)
Under the roof of the Anderson High School, three things happened at the same time during the opening ceremony.

First, our female protagonist was chosen to go on stage to introduce the school to the "fresh-meat". Oh how she wished it all ended soon and she could go smoke.

Second, our male protagonist was chasing his dog with the discipline teacher. Oh how he wished that damn dog had stayed home so he wouldn't have been in trouble.

Third and finally, but very unfortunately even though this kind of things wouldn't have happened if she had escaped from her teacher's request or if he hadn't agreed with his mom bringing the dog to see him step into his new school.

Well you see fate was playing with it's eyes closed and well let's just say it made an amazing choice.

"This kind of thing" meaning the first meeting of Alice Dillon,15 and Christopher Hutchinson,17.

Can you guess what happens when a dog runs loose, and when a teacher and a student chases after it?

And when the whole school is listening to one boring lecture given by an amateur student?

And when the whole situation is happening at about 60 metres apart...and when a narrator is running out of breathe all at the same time?

Well this is what happens.

"... is Ms. Hazel. She is the head of..." the barking of a dog had interrupted Alice's talk.

"Uh... as I was saying she is the head of the English Department in our school. This year she will be...", but she was interrupted again.

"Bob! Stop right there." It was a male's voice coming from back stage.

"Um...?" Alice looked confused and horrified. For one, she had no idea what was happening. And two, she is scared of...... dogs.

Talk about an epic first impression.

Then out of nowhere came a Siberian Husky. It looked so pretty that our female character might have also said that if she wasn't terrified by it.

Well why wouldn't she?

"That's because the bloody damn dog is coming towards me!" Alice was already saying her goodbyes to her family and friends.

"Dad you're handsome but your mustache is a no-no. Ty, help yourself and get a real girlfriend. Mil, save yourself some lame jokes and get a grip in Maths. JB, grow some balls and confess to that damn four-eyed freak. Goodbye, I love you guys." she said as she whimpered at the dog.

The dog zoomed past her so fast, she was going to fall off the stage.

However, exactly at that moment a hand reached out and pulled her so that she is not the one that falls off the stage but the one that falls on the stage.

Well, isn't that just beautiful? And overly cliche?... And it got interrupted with a loud bark.

"Careful!" "Oh no!" "Jesus!" Screams filled the grand hall of Anderson High School as a new transfer male student meets the floor and loses his conscious.

"Oh my god! Who fell for me? Is that person alright?"was what a normal person would think but as our protagonist, Alice was cursing that person for letting her miss the chance to be in a hospital instead of school.

Isn't she thankful?

"Ok people calm down. Mr. Arnold, would you please call an ambulance? He doesn't- Alice, thank you now please move out of the way and sit down- he doesn't seem to wake up. Now if everyone would just shut up and......"said Mrs. Dorris, the head discipline teacher as she struggled to keep the dog leash.

" I shall now move out of your way of taking in charge and sit my ass down with a broken arm." Alice thought as she sat down at the audience seat to wait for further instructions with a broken arm from the fall she took on the stage floor.

Taking the chance of the commotion Tyron James and Milan Gurung, Alice's besties although missing one goes to Alice.

"That was a heroic fall on stage", said Tyron. Alice glared at him. "Oohh! She on fire but that dude seriously isn't waking up." The joker exclaimed.

Alice keeps quite. "Students of Anderson High School please line up and keep quiet!" Mrs. Dorris said.

"Really, A?" Milan said almost whispering.

"Oh come on Ally. We were just playing around." Tyron said with his cutest voice possible as students were lining up to prevent the trouble of looking at DD, Discipline Dorris.

That's where Alice snapped."Playing around?"she said in her warning tone. The two boys gulped.

"Shit."Milan squeaked. "I told you this was a bad idea." Tyron whispered. "Did you honestly think I would keep my ass cool when two of my BEST FRIENDS recommended me to the teachers to speak in front of the damn school?" Her voice echoed in the now silent hall.

By the time she ended her sentence it was too late. Everyone were looking at the three idiots.

"Alice Dillon, Tyron James and Milan Gurung. In my office, NOW!" Discipline Dorris shouted at them.

Alice gave the boys a glare as the boys looked at her guiltily.

"Yes Mrs. Dorris." The trio said in unison and left the hall to their way to DD's castle of doom.

"From the hall, to the left. Last door, go with your friend. From the hall, to your hell. Enter it and all shall end." Sang Milan as it wasn't his first time being sent to DD's discipline room.

"I hate you guys." Said Alice. "Yeah, we love you too." They both send her flying kisses. Alice just frowned upon them.

It took DD one whole hour to control the crowd. Another hour to proceed the students to their respective classes. And another 30 minutes making sure everything was in place. Also not to forget the three idiots who had an hour or two's scolding from DD.

Then the bell rang. To Alice's surprise, it was lunch her favourite period.

"Out you go. Next time this happens... make sure there is no next time. Control them, Alice. Stop your charming smile, Killian and you Milan, I will be looking at you." DD warned as she pointed at her eyes with her middle and index fingers, then proceeded to point at Milan.
Milan groaned at the warning he received. "Why is it always me? I mean you were the one getting mad at nothing and screaming." He pointed at Alice.

Alice shot him a glare. "Nothing?" she asked.

Killian punched Milan's arm. "What did I do?"He said with a stupid face. Killian looked at him with disbelief.

"Was it my fault you dragged me into this? Was it my fault I had to go up stage to talk? Nothing? I don't believe you." Alice screamed and turned to Milan or she was trying to.

And that my readers is how she ended up bumping into someone and falling once again on her butt this time.

"Ouch! That must've hurt, A." Milan tried to hide his laughter.

"Oh damn. Yo kid you dead. Ally's already mad. Oh wait, have I seen you somewhere?" Killian questions.

As Alice struggled to stand up, the guy reached out his hand to help her. "Who is he?", Killian asked himself again.

Milan rolled his eyeball and said, "It's that guy. He's the one that......" At the same time, Alice stood up rejecting the hand.

She looks up to see a guy with tissues sticking out of his nose. She widened her eyes as a sudden realization hits her.

"You're the guy that....."she started. "...fell down the stage and knocked me/Ally/A!"the three idiots said at the same time.

The very first bump and the very first official meeting of Alice Dillon and Christopher Hutchinson.
