Avery's POV (also 1 week later)
I stretched, getting out of bed. Kian wasn't there, that's new. I smiled for a second, but it instantly vanished.
Today was the day I would go back to school. Kian and I took the week off, trying to let the drama disappear. I stood up and walked to the closet. I no longer gave a crap about school. That's a bad habit, but hey, I don't care.
I slipped on some random hoodie, and skinny jeans, heading to the bathroom. This was sorta my go to outfit nowadays. I looked basic as heck, and it wasn't cute. I laughed a little brushing my teeth.
Quickly putting my hair in a bun, I grabbed my phone and headed down stairs. I stopped by the door and slipped on my black converse, then went to the kitchen. I expected Kian, but he wasn't there.
"Um, Ki?" I called out. There wasn't an answer. I walked over to the living room, empty. The bathroom? No dice. I walked back to the kitchen and sighed, Kian was acting weird lately.
It's like once we had sex, he lost interest in me. I mean, he still kisses me, and cuddles, and says I love you occasionally, but it's confusing.
I put some bread in the toaster, and waited. Just as it popped the door swung open. "Hey." I half smiled at Kian.
"Hi." He didn't look at me. "Almost ready?" I noticed he was already dressed.
"Yeah, let's go." I grabbed my toast, also my book bag. He walked ahead of me, towards the door, and then out to his car. He went straight around to his side, without opening my door which is what he normally does.
He started driving as soon as my door was closed. He was going pretty fast, a little scary. I decided against saying something, just in case he was in a bad mood.
With in a couple of minutes we arrived at school. This time Kian opened my door, erasing any doubt I had before. "Thanks babe." I laughed at my awkward wording.
"No problem." He walked next to me, not touching me at all. I shrugged and walked toward my locker, Kian came with.
"Hey!" Jeanelle greeted me. "Bae is finally back!" She smiled, literally bouncing next to me.
"Yep!" I have to admit, even with all the drama, I was glad to be back at school. Just then someone's hands covered my eyes. I heard Jean snicker, so I turned around.
"What is up? I missed you, you flop!" Trevor winked. I smiled and hugged him, I missed his bubbling enthusiasm.
"Aw, wittle Trevy!" I said, in a high pitched voice. He smiled and released me from the hug. I finished grabbing my books, just as Kian spoke.
"Uh, Avery. I'm gonna go find Sam. I'll talk to you later." He said, motioning towards his group of friends.
"Yeah, ok. I love you." I leaned in a little.
"Loveyoutoo." He rushed out, before turning and walking away. I stood there in shock.
"You saw that too, right?" I asked them. Trevor nodded while Jean bit her lip. "What is going on with him?" I threw my hands in the air, finally frustrated.
"I don't know, but just take your mind off of it for awhile." Trevor rubbed my back.
"Yeah. He's probably on his man period." Jean laughed, that was funny, I should of laughed but I couldn't. I was too angry right now.
"Fine." I grumbled. "Let's just go to class." We waved bye to Trevor and walked to our classroom.

The day went by like that. But I was in a horrible mood. It didn't help that I was so behind, or that people still gawked at me.
Jean, Trevor, and I walked down the hall to Kian's locker. We were all planning on eating lunch together. But when we arrived he wasn't there.
"Can we just wait for a minute?" I whined, staying put.
"No. He's a douche." Jean pulled me by the arm. "Just come on!"
"He could be in class still. Maybe he got in trouble, so the teachers holding him." I beamed, trying to reason out his absence.
"She has a point. He does get in trouble, a lot!" Trevor backed me up.
"Omg! Trev, shut the hell up." Jean snarled. He raised his hands in defense. "Aves, he probably forgot, you can talk to him later. Besides, don't you miss out old table?"
She was right, I missed Lia and Jenn and Andrea and Lauren! "Yeah, you're right. Let's go." I said, falling back into my funk.
We walked to the lunch line, it wasn't that long. We each bought our food, and headed to the table. "Avery!" Lia shouted, making me smile.
She hopped up and hugged me. "Hi!" I hugged back. She was the sweetest person ever, always making me smile and laugh.
"I've missed you." She let go, and we sat down.
"Same. I've actually missed all of you!" I smiled at everyone, they all laughed and w3 continued to chat.
"So you and Kian?" Andrea wiggled her eyebrows. I blushed and looked at my pizza.
"Yeah." The thought of us made me ecstatic. They all "ooh" like we were in 6th grade.
"That's so cute." Jenn said, and then we dropped the subject. I took a bite of my food, thinking about him.
Why the hell is he acting so strange? Did I do something? Maybe it's the way I've been dressing. Although, I didn't think he cared that much. The bell finally rang, forcing me to get up and walk to class.
-------------------------------------------------------------
I've been waiting her for 30 minutes. Just standing by Kian's car. Did he forget that he was taking me home? God, I haven't talked to him all day, and now this. Jesus!
Jeanelle and Trevor walked home, only after I insisted it was fine. I tried calling Kian multiple times, they all go straight to voicemail.
I sat down on the pavement picking my fingernails. After about 10 minutes, I hear heavy footsteps approaching. "Baby, I'm so so so sorry!" Kian runs over to me, cupping my face.
I pulled away, even though his touch feels amazing. "Just take me home." I snap. He opens my door and sprints to his.
"I'm sorry." He kisses my cheek. I hide my smile. "Avery."
"What?" I almost laugh, I see him smile. Dammit!
"Come on I'll take you to lunch to make it up." He says, starting the car.
"Yay!" I yell like a 3 year old.
