Katniss POV

When I wake, I'm screaming. But before I know I feel Peeta's strong arms around me. He sits near me on the bed and rubs smooth circles on my back and whispers soothing words into my ear. After about fifteen minutes, my sobbing turns to soft hiccups.

"Katniss," he says, breaking the silence. "Do you want to talk about it?"

I shake my head. I can't stand reliving what just happened. Not to my Peeta.

"They say it helps." He adds. I shake my head harder than before and close my eyes tighter.

"Okay," he says, sadly looking away and then looking back. "Want me to finish my story?" he asks with a concerned look.

"Sure," I say as I sit up in bed and snuggle next to him.

"Alright, so we left off when I was planning an escape..."

************************************Peeta's POV

When I woke up my neck hurt from not sleeping well on the cold cement ground. You'd think they would put cots or something in here. But then I remember I'm in the Capitol and they send kids into an arena every year and party while they are all supposed to kill each other, and they won't even care to give a little luxury like a cot in a cell. Once I sit up and try to stretch out my neck, I hear footsteps. Snow walks down the hall and bangs on the cells to wake everyone up. When he sees I'm already up, he gives me an evil smirk.

"Morning, Peeta," he says. "Sleep well?"

I shrug. "Well, it was kind of difficult to fall asleep on the cold hard ground.

He laughs. "Oh, is it?" he says. "It wasn't supposed to be comfortable."

He laughs again and I shoot him a glare. He walks down to see everyone else.

"How about you, Johanna? Any issues sleeping?" he hisses.

"Not at all," she says sarcastically.

"Is that so?" He says.

"Yup," she starts. "As in sleep, I got none at all. Stayed up all night to make sure you freaks didn't do anything stupid to me or my friends." What got me when she said that was she called us friends.

"Well, why can't we all be friends?" he asked her.

She is in the cell next to me so I can't see her, but there's silence after he asked the question so I assume she is glaring at him.

He laughs and then yells to the guard by the door. "Mind if you take them to the room for me? I don't want to get my hands dirty." The Peacekeeper walks over and starts unlocking our doors and cuffing us. Although last night, I used a spoon and unlocked the lock. I made sure everyone knew this and got an escape plan ready. When he came to mine, I punched him in the face, knocking him off his feet and made a run for it, along with everyone else. But by the time we get to the door, a Peacekeeper handcuffs us all and sends us into the elevator.

When we get off, we're in an all white room and there are cameras set up. They put us all in a separate room and have some stylists change our clothes and do our makeup. they put me into an all white suit and tie and they put a sharp piece on my neck that goes into my neck if I look down. Then, they shove me into the chair and cuff me.

Snow walks into the room and talks to the camera crew.

"Is he ready?" he asks. The head cameraman nods his head. "Hello, Peeta. White looks good on you." I glare at him.

"What do you want?" I ask him.

"Oh, nothing much. Just you to tell the rebels to stop the war and no one will get hurt, or-" he gets cut off by a series of coughs. After about thirty seconds he pulls out a handkerchief and puts it over his mouth. I see little spots of red cover the cloth as he pulls it away and puts it in his pocket. "Or they get bombed."

Katniss. No, this can't happen. I won't let them touch her.

"What am I supposed to do?" I ask.

"Aww, I knew you would help. Let our good friend Caesar here do the talking and answer the questions the best way possible."

That sounds easy. "Okay," I tell him.

He gives me a smile that makes him look like a rat. "That means a lot to me," he says, and then he jumps onto his tiptoes and gasps. "I almost forgot. For you." he says, reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out a white rose and smiling. "Here, I'll help you." he clips it onto my jacket. "Perfect." He says.

The room gets brighter because of the spotlights and he whispers something I don't quite hear because I hear the Capitol anthem blaring through the speakers.

Katniss's POV

"And that's when you saw me on the projector and you know the rest." He says.

"I'm so sorry, Peeta." I say, embracing him and crying into his shirt. He puts his head on my shoulder and I feel him cry into my hair. I feel so bad for him, after all he went through.

He pulls away and lifts my chin to look into his beautiful blue eyes.

"It's okay, we're together now, and I promise you, I will never leave you ever again." He says.

"Stay with me?" I ask him with a smile, already knowing the answer.

"Always."
