We'll be okay

Peeta's POV

Present time

I look at Katniss and see her face is filled with fear.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, concerned.

"Not really," she says. "You said you thought I was dead. And the last time you saw me was when you saw the hovercraft pick me up." This brings tears to both of us. I bring her into a hug.

"Yeah," I start. "But you know what that gave me while I was there?"

"What?" she asks, sounding like she is choking on her own tears. I lift up her head and wipe the hair out of her face.

"Hope," I say, kissing her forehead. "You gave me hope that you were still alive." After I say that she kisses me, so I kiss her back. We only break when she stops me the exact same way she did last time. The scar.

"You never finished your story." she says.

"Oh yeah," I say. "So Johanna said we were going to the Capitol..."

*Flashback*

"I think we're going to the Capitol." says Johanna.

It takes me a second to process what she just said. "The Capitol? Who would want us there?"

"The same person that doesn't think Katniss loves you." she says. There's only one person who doesn't believe our love story. Snow.

"Why does Snow want us?" says Annie.

"I've known the guy for nearly my whole life. There's only two reasons that I can think of why he would want us in the Capitol," she pauses.

"What are they?" Annie says, swallowing loudly.

"One, to kill us," she says.

"Or?" I ask, even more scared of being killed.

"To torture us to get the rebels to surrender." Torture? I'd rather be tortured than be dead. At least I'm still alive and can find Katniss.

I hear cries come from Annie. I feel bad for her. First, she wins her games and goes crazy. Then, she falls in love with Finnick after he wins. The Quarter Quell is called and Mags volunteers for her, getting her love taken away from her. And now, we might never see them again.

I try to comfort her as best I can, reassuring her that we'll get back to them.

"We'll find them, I promise." I tell her.

"Okay," Annie says.

"We should all get some sleep, we've got a long journey ahead." I tell them.

"He's right," Johanna says, and that's the last thing I hear before sleep takes over me.

I meant for this to be just a short little chapter thing, but you guys made this a thing, and I'm glad for that.
