XIUMIN:

The beginning of the month marked Tao's birthday and Suho had decided to throw a party for him. After my crazy birthday party, I wasn't exactly looking forward to another one so soon, but I wasn't going to miss it for a stupid reason like that. Besides, we had already told Suho we would go and I really didn't want Suho mad at us for going back on our word.

Tao had seemed kind of down lately and none of us were really sure why. Whenever anybody asked him he always just said that he was tired from work. I could see how his job would be draining, but I really didn't think that was the issue. We all really hoped that the party would cheer him up.

We left an hour or so early for Suho's apartment, wanting to help with anything we could, but once we got there Suho said that everything had already been set up, thanks to Jongin, Kyungsoo and Kris' help. I was a little surprised that Kris had come over to help, seeing as how he and Tao didn't have the best relationship after everything that had happened between the two of them, but I was hoping maybe it was a step in the direction of them becoming friends again.

"Where is Sehun? I told him when the party started! I bet he told Tao and now he doesn't want to come! Why did I trust that he could keep a secret?!" Suho yelled as we were all waiting around his apartment for Sehun to text us that they were here.

"Calm down, Suho. He'll get him here one way or another. You know Sehun wouldn't want to deal with you if he failed," Chen said from behind me, his arms around my waist.

"You'll have to deal with me too if I catch you two having sex anywhere in my apartment, so keep it in your pants!"

"Damn. And I had my eye on your dining room table. It looks so much more comfortable than ours!"

"Don't you even think about it, Kim Jongdae! You can do it anywhere you please at your house but you will not be having sex in my apartment!" There was a pause where it looked like Chen was going to say something, but Suho quickly cut him off. "And that doesn't mean you can do it on the balcony either!"

"Damn it," Chen huffed under his breath, Suho apparently having caught onto exactly what he was thinking.

Suho jumped at the sound of his phone beeping, a text having been sent to him, and he pulled his phone from his pocket, tapping it a couple times, and then yelling at everybody.

"Sehun said they're here! Get in your places, NOW!"

"Chill grandpa, it's just a surprise party," Chen said, moving with me to the hallway that would conceal us from Tao's view when he walked through the front door.

"That doesn't give you the right to ruin it though, so shut up!" Suho hissed, turning off the lights and moving to his hiding place.

I could hear Sehun and his very loud voice coming up the hallway, talking to someone one could only guess was Tao. The sound of the doorknob turning and the sight of two silhouettes in the doorway signaled everyone to jump from their hiding spots and yell "Surprise!", except for Kris, who didn't seem to really put in any effort into hiding. But that didn't really surprise me.

Tao did a pretty good job of acting surprised; at least Suho believed him. But I could tell that Sehun had told him beforehand. That kid couldn't keep a secret for the life of him.

We all gave Tao hugs, telling him happy birthday, before the party started and everyone broke into groups, just talking, drinking or whatever else they wanted to do, as long as Suho didn't have a problem with it. In Chen and I's case, we snuck off to the bathroom while Suho was properly distracted.

While Suho was making sure that Tao was happy and keeping an eye on all of his precious belongings, Chen grabbed my hand and pulled me down the hallway to the guest bathroom at the end of it. We hadn't even made it to the bathroom before Chen had me lifted up, my legs around his waist, and was aggressively kissing me.
