Thanks to summerskies321 for messaging me and making me want to add more ideas.
So school ended a while back and I graduates grade 8. And since I went to that school for 8 years - since grade 1- I always find myself remembering stuff that happened. One of those things was gettin stuck in an elevator at the end of grade 5. It was only a few minutes and we were helping our teacher move her stuff downstairs for her class next year, but I swear I got closer to the people I got stuck with. Now that I thought about it, it's make a pretty cool story right?
The idea here is 2 people stuck in an elevator. I really don't know how to be realistic about this so let's just say they get stuck for like 5 hours until it's repaired or whatever. But the main story - which could be short or you could go on after the elevator meeting for a long story - is about those two random strangers meeting and looking past someone that just this random face you pass on the street everyday. Since I like reading first person teenage stories, I thought it would be cool if this was a story that switched perspective between the two stuck in the elevator.
I was thinking it would be cool and make a cool story if the two strangers - who I think should be a teenage guy and girl - got stuck in the elevator at the hospital. They could both be going up to meet family or a friend and I guess they could comfort each other in the elevator. It could be that the guy is seeing his little sister (you know how much I love those lil sis big bro things) who could have just gone to the hospital to get stitches for something that the guy, lets call him Josh, was at fault for. He'd also be really worried about her since he's pretty much the man of the house since their mom is a single mom so he's under that stress. The girl, lets call her Reed, was visting her dying grandpa who she always goes to when both of her parents fight.
Both probably look like perfect people to anyone that just glances at them, but no one sees the world on Josh and Reed's shoulders. So when both are anxious to get out of the elevator that suddenly stops in the middle of it's way up, it's only natural to actually look at who you're sharing an elevator with. From there, I guess it's up to you. They could just ignore each other for a bit or right off the bat judge the other when comment about their life are made. Then they could slowly end up telling one another their problems and find comfort. It could be that Josh realizes that there are people you can trust and Reed realizing that she isn't alone in the world.
Who knew that a stranger in a hospital elevator could be someone you can tell about your whole life and trust with your deepest secrets? And who would've thought that even if someone looks fine, they really aren't? Not Josh and Reed. That is, until being stuck in an elevator for 5 hours. Heck, who would've thought an elevator would take 5 hours to repair? Not Josh and Reed but they sure are grateful for it.
The paragraph above could be used for a summary. I think it would be pretty cool. Sorry if this is confusing. I'm not really good with wording stuff. So if there are any questions, ask in the comments. And thanks for reading.
