*Dinah*
The forest echoed and groaned around us as we made our way through it in search of people, water and food. We started early this morning and as it approached noon we were still unlucky. We could've been walking in circles for all we know. Rusty lead the group alongside Lauren. They were the two strongest personalities of the group. They had that motherly protection over us, like they'd die in order to keep us safe. I ran into the back of Ally because I wasn't paying attention and just as I was about to get mad at her I noticed a small house ahead of us. It was an old white beach house with vines hanging from the roof and smashed windows.
"Nobody will be in there," Normani said in a saddened tone, " I mean look at it. Who'd want to live there?"
"It's always worth a look," Lauren said looking at Rusty for the final approval. She nodded her head before walking up to the door and testing the handle. The door didn't budge so she stepped backwards and kicked it creating a hole in the door.
"Well that works," mumbled Ally sarcastically. Rusty glared at her as she removed her foot from the hole it created and repositioned herself to kick closer to the handle. With a loud crack the door flew open and slammed into the wall of the house.
"You were saying," Rusty smirked at Ally who replied with a soft shut up before walking inside.

The house was empty like Normani guessed but on the plus side it had beds and a pantry with food in it. Majority of it went off years ago but we did find water bottles. Rusty, Lauren and I all walked down to a lake we had passed not long ago to fill the water bottles. My legs ached in pain from how far we had walked today and I prayed that we'd find people soon and be able to go home.
"What do you think Camila thinks about me?" Lauren asked out of the blue as she stared off into the forest ahead of us. It was silent for a while as we thought through our answers.
"I think she sees safety in you. Safety and comfort. Like no harm will come to her when you're close by," Rusty said as she slid down a little ledge to be at the waterline of the lake.
"Not only that I think she sees somebody she can rely on. I think she sees you as a close friend," I replied expecting a smile but earning a slight frown.
"Yeah friend," she whispered out.
"One day it could be more," Rusty said standing up and passing me a full water bottle our eyes connected before she continued to speak, "everything starts off as nothing before it becomes more. Actions become results," she smiled at me then Lauren before picking up another bottle and filling it.
"Well I hope one day that statement will become truth," Lauren said, her eyes shone with hope as she helped Rusty with the water bottles.

When we returned we picked what beds we wanted and in what rooms before putting someone on guard incase anybody showed up. Rusty chose to go first and although there was slight protest because she had been leading the group and doing the most stuff all day but she insisted. The beds were sheet less and hard but it was better then nothing. I laid down on the double I had to share with Ally and Normani whilst Lauren and Camila took the other double. I was partially asleep when I heard Rusty's muffled screams at the entryway of the house. I got up, shaking the other girls awake before sprinting to the front of the house. I got there just in time to see Rusty stab a man wearing animal fur in the chest causing his body to fall to the floor as a crimson red puddle spread across the floor. There was a scream before two more people dressed in animal fur and bones approached us. Rusty threw the dead mans weapon at me as the other girls came up behind me. Their jaws dropped at the sight before them as more men emerged from the bushes. We fought hard taking down at least 15-20 men and women. I was about to take out another man but something hard hit my head and the last thing I saw was a women with black around her eyes like a raccoon and a blonde haired girl beside her with the same black pattern around her eyes before everything went dark.
