My hand gripped tightly to Lauren's as we hung upside down. Her hands were soft with a couple rough patches caused by living in the forest and the activities we had faced so far. Normani and Rusty had been dragged away into a hut. Normani came out hours ago either dead or extremely injured. Rusty was yet to reemerge but if the screaming was any indication to what was happening she would soon be passed out from pain.

There was a shouting in the distance before a horn was sounded. Their commander emerged from the tent followed by one of her people, a look of distress on her face. She moved in a rushed pace over to us before cutting the ropes that tied us to the tree. My hand fell out of Lauren's and I was consumed with a feeling of fear. I glanced over at her and she mirrored the same face as me. The Commander said something in a language I didn't understand before we were dragged in the direction Normani was. A wooden cage came into view with an unconscious and bleeding Normani, but she wasn't dead. I felt a short lived rush of relief before I was pushed into the cage followed by the rest of the girl, including a conscious but broken looking Rusty. Her leg dangled behind her and was obviously broken along with her right wrist. Blood ran down her face in streaks and her feet were shoeless.

The commander signaled something as men in camouflage came into view before running into a far away tent that most likely belonged to her. The man that was following her crouched by our wooden cage and scanned the men. Although his demeanor was strong his eyes looked fearful. The men in the camouflage uniform kicked down a door before taking ahold of the men, women and children inside. Once they had at least 11 people they left the way they came except for two men. One of them walked towards their commanders tent whilst the other one came towards our cage. The commanders man walked backwards to hide in the shadows as the camouflaged man kicked the door open before grabbing Lauren by the hair and dragging her out. I tried to stop him along with the other girls but Normani was unconscious, Rusty was injured, Dinah got hit in the head and then I got kicked in the face before Lauren and a blonde haired girl from the commanders tent were pulled away in the same direction as the 11 others.
