Please, tell me.

It had been a couple of weeks now and I decided I would stay over at Cam’s just so I wouldn’t have to deal with my roommates.

I woke up one morning to the bright sunlight emitting through the off-white blinds in Cameron’s room. I felt Cam’s arm tighten around my waist as I wiggled my body in between it to face him.

I gently placed my tiny hand on the side of his face and rubbed my padded thumb across his stubbly cheek. He looked so angelic. Moving in closer, I snuggled more into his warm chest and nuzzled my face in his neck. Placing feathery kisses in the crook of his neck, I felt his chest erupt in laughter. I looked up at him with my sweet smile.

“What’re you laughing at?” I poked at his stomach.

He looked at me with his marble green eyes and kissed my eyelid, “You.”

Taken aback I gave him a pout and turned my face away from him, “What do you mean me?”

Cam pulled me in a closer than I had been before and placed his soft lips on the corner of my ear, “You’re just so damn sexy in the morning, Wree,” he said in a husky voice, sending chills down my spine.

I looked back up at him; biting my lip back and gave him a seductive look, knowing it would turn him on somehow. I brought my face up towards his and I could have sworn our lips had been as close as they possibly could be without even touching.

And I teased him. I actually teased him. Closing my eyes, I brushed my lips to his and grabbed the back of his neck to bring us closer together. Through batted lashes I could see the pleasure in face as I did so.

Closing them shut once again, I finally pressed my lips to his granting him what he had wanted this whole time. I ran my tongue along his lips begging for an entrance and I heard him moan in pleasure as he granted me access.

Just as he was about to slip his warm hand through my shirt I heard the doorbell ring and I groaned in discontent and irritation. Cam smiled in satisfaction of my want for him and pecked my forehead.

“I’m sorry baby, I’ll make it up to you I promise,” he whispered to me as he got up from the bed to answer the door.

Following him towards his doorway, I noticed a familiar blonde.

“JOHN!” I yelped in content, jumping into his arms that I haven’t felt in God knows how long. I heard him laugh as I pulled away from him.

“Wree, how have you been?” he asked, seriousness taking over his posture and his facial expression.

I looked at him with concerned eyes.  Why was he acting different? Clearing my throat I opened my mouth to answer.

“I’ve been okay, the real question would be, how have you been, Johnny?” I said, throwing his question right back at him.

He gave me a weak smile and a soft chuckle, “I broke up with Vanessa,” he admitted.

I stood there in shock not really knowing what to say to him. He broke up with her? Why, because of me? Gosh, I hope not. I wonder how she is. Probably cutting up pictures of us three and cutting off my head in every one of them. Shut up would you?

“God, I’m so sorry John,” I responded in a low voice, squeezing his hand in reassurance.

“It’s okay, really. It was getting out of hand and the way she treated you was unacceptable, in the first place. I won’t have you be treated like trash, you’re my best friend Wren, and you don’t deserve that,” he retorted, the last part said in barely a whisper.

I knew he didn’t want to talk about it with the way his voice cracked each time. So I took him by the arm and dragged him over to the kitchen where Cam had been making breakfast.

“Guys, I couldn’t have asked for two better men in my life, so quit your whining and let’s get your mind off things, okay John?” I shouted out, in a fake southern accent.

I knew I had done my job with the way John let out a bark of laughter as he walked up the stairs to the washroom to wash his hands. I haven’t heard that laugh in forever.

Smiling to myself, I noticed from the corner of my eye Cameron walking over to me, grinning from ear to ear. I placed my arms on either side of his shoulders and rested my hands on the back of his neck as he planted himself in front of me.

Tucking in a loose strand of hair behind my ear, he wrapped his arms around me tighter than he ever did.

“You’re something else, Wree, and I never want to lose you to anything or anyone, you here me?” He whispered into my ear, worry strained in his voice.

Pulling away from the hug, I looked up at him with weary eyes, “Cam, you’re never going to lose me, stop thinking that okay?” I answered him.

It took him a while to believe me until he slowly but surely nodded in agreement.

He placed his palm on the surface of my cheek and I found myself leaning more into his touch than necessary. Cameron smirked at me and leaned in for a kiss. I got up on my tiptoes and allowed our lips to smash in unison as I felt the heat between us grow.

He slid his hand down to my waist and gave it a good squeeze as he broke the kiss to move down to my neck. I titled my head back to give him more room and moaned in ecstasy. I felt my back smash into the counter and that’s when I noticed that we had been moving into the kiss.

He brought his hands down to my ass, allowing me to wrap my legs around his waist as he sat me on his counter. As the kiss grew more intense I felt his area rub against mine as he let out a low growl.

I smirked to myself, knowing that I had to stop if I wanted at least some control of this.  I broke the kiss and placed a chaste one on his temple as I brought myself down off the counter. Cam took hold of my arm and turned me around to face him.

“Excuse me little Miss, but I don’t believe we were done here,” he said out of breath with a pout planted on his beautiful plump lips.

I walked closer to him until I reached the tip of his ear and whispered, “Sucks to be you.”

And with that, I walked away from him with my head held high in confidence. I heard him whine in frustration and giggled to myself as I walked up the stairs to his room to wash up.

I knocked on the door, to make sure John wasn’t in there any longer and I realized he had already left the washroom.

Walking in, I noticed Cam’s phone buzzing on the bathroom counter. Looking over to see who had been messaging him, I noticed it had been a girl named Lucy. Raising my eyebrows in suspicion, I unlocked his phone to see what she wanted and immediately let it drop to the floor as I read the message.

My hand found its way to my now opened mouth. I tried to hold back the tears that I had wanted to let out, but I just couldn’t bring myself to it. I slid my back against the bathroom door and let all my tears fall. It couldn’t be possible.

No, he wouldn’t do that to me. Right? I felt my stomach churn as I read the text over again. This can’t be happening. Just when I thought my life was coming together, this girl had to come into my life and tear it apart altogether once again.

Wiping my face of any tearstains that had been on my cheeks, I unlocked the bathroom door and walked carefully down the stairs to the kitchen. I heard laughter coming from both of the two men sitting on the kitchen table and immediately heard it come to a close as they saw my rosy tearstained face.

Cameron rushed over to me, bringing his hands to either side of my cheeks. Feeling disgusted I tore myself away from his grasp and shoved his phone in his face.

“What is this? Would you like to explain to me why this is even a message on your phone?” I snapped at him.

Lifting his eyebrows in confusion, Cam took his phone in his hand and read the message carefully. He tore his eyes away from the screen and looked back into mine, regret and apology filling them,

“Wree, this isn’t what it looks like I prom-“ he stumbled on his words before I cut him off in anger.

“Really, because to me, it’s exactly what it looks like. Please, tell me Cameron, why this girl claims that you’re the father of her unborn child.” I finally said out loud, with pure and utter distaste coming across my voice.
