Serena's POV

"It's a Pancham!" Clemont exclaimed.

"Wow! Cool!" Ash exclaimed excitedly beside me.

I looked at the mischievous Pokemon which had stolen my hat. He was looking at me, grinning twirling my precious hat around on his finger. I saw his attention quickly divert to each if my friends, then a grin form on its face. Suddenly, it was on Ash, grabbing his cap, Mays's bandanna, and Dawn's beanie. They all have shouts of protest as the quick Pokemon leapt around, collecting their hats. Pancham grinned at all of us before beginning his escape, only to be blocked by Pikachu and Riolu, both who were standing ready.

"Pika!"

"Pan Pan Cham!"

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu leapt up, his tail now iron as he flew forward, having every intention to take the hats back. Pikachu was about to smash the Pancham, when Riolu leapt forward using quick attack to move Pancham out of the way. Pikachu slammed his tail into the ground, where Pancham, just had been. Pikachu whirled around, looking at Riolu accusingly.

"Calm down Pikachu!" Ash said, moving forward and standing next to the agitated electric Pokemon. "Riolu?" He asked, obviously wanting to know his intentions. Riolu however, was busy conversing with Pancham. My eyes widened with surprise when Riolu stretched out a hand, and Pancham handed back to stolen items. Riolu nodded happily, then ran around, handing everyone back their things. Riolu then looked at Ash, and pointed to me then Pancham. I couldn't understand what they were saying, but Ash explained when he looked at me.

"Riolu says he stole your hat because he wanted attention-" Ash began, only to have Riolu poke him in the leg, pointing at me again. "Sorry, he wanted your attention." Ash finished, looking at Riolu as to check he had understood correctly. Riolu nodded.

"Really?" I said, turning towards Pancham. "Is that right?" I asked gently. Pancham turned around quickly, but I could see him still glancing back at me. I smiled. I was about to ask him something when an announcement ran out, informing the campers of the completion of dinner. Ash, Gary, and Barry bolted towards the hall where dinner was served. My attention wavered for a second, but when I looked back, Pancham was gone.

"Pancham is gone." Dawn commented.

"Way to point out the obvious." Misty said sarcastically.

"Come on, we should probably head over to hall now." May said.

"Yeah..." I said, still thinking about the Pancham. Why had it wanted my attention? Had I done something? I mean, why me? I wasn't that special...

"Hello? Hello?"

"Anyone home?"

"Earth to Serena!"

"Serena?"

"Serena!"

I snapped back to reality to see all of my friends looking at me.

"Sorry guys, just thinking about something." I apologised.

"All good, let's grab something to eat! Kenny said,  pulling ahead with the rest if the boys, leaving us girls walking along at a slower pace.
