☁ 3 Days Later ☁

I can't believe I'm packing to go to California for a week! For a second through all that one day torture my Mom was putting me through, I thought I wasn't going to go! Ha, never mind!

I am going to miss my Mom and little sister, Katie.

I know I'm barely mentioning her, but it's never too late, right? She's 11 and I love her! She's my Blinky!

I walked downstairs with my luggage bags to find a smiling mother and crying Katie. As soon as I got to the bottom, I let go of my luggage bags and tightly hugged Katie to death. She cried in my embrace whilst I rubbed her back. I shed a tear or two, but can you blame me? I pulled away but had her in my hands. I rested my hands on her arms and smiled at her whilst bending down. I wiped her falling tears.

"It's okay, sweetie...I'll be back."

Nothing could stop her from crying. Not even my words.

"Come on, sweetie. I'll be back before you know it!" I said smiling at her.

"What am I gonna do when you're not here?" she asked as she wiped her tears, but more kept falling.

"Aw," I said not knowing what to say.

I walked over to my luggage bag and picked up the stuffed toy on the top of the luggage bag. I smiled as I held it in my hands. It was from when I was born. My Gam Gam (Grandma) gave it to my Mom for me. I walked over to Katie and bent down to her level. I smiled as I gave her my toy.

"Here...."

"What is it?"

"It's from when I was born. She's been with me ever since, so it's kind of like a little stuffed me...in bunny form."

Katie giggled. I smiled.

"There's that beautiful smile! Now, come on, cheer up! I don't want Mom telling me you were crying whilst I'm at the airport, okay?" I asked smiling.

She nodded whilst I stood back up.

"Oh, her name's Lili."

"Lili? That's cute!"

I smiled. I looked at my Mom.

"Any words before I go?" I asked with a hopeful side tone.

Mom smiled.

"Just...be careful, alright?"

I nodded whilst in the inside I expected something...meaningful. I smiled even though it was kind of a heart shattering moment for me.

My Mom and Dad divorced when I was 2. My Dad was done with being a father and my Mom was hopeless. She has trouble telling me sweet things because everything bad that has happened to her since my birth is apparently all my fault.

I hugged Katie one last time then walked out my house.

I shed a tear. Not one single word from my Mom.

I walked into Andrea and Jenn's car.

"Hey, girl!" they both said as I entered.

I smiled big.

"Hey! Hey!" I said whilst giggling.

"So, how'd...well, Katie, take it?" Andrea asked.

Andrea and Jenn are my best friends, so they know everything about me. Including the feud between my Mom and I. I sighed.

"She cried...it was hard to leave her, but it's life, right? I'm almost 18. I'm basically independent and an adult."

"Exactly!" they both said.

I smiled and rested my temple against the car window.

The car ride to the airport and flight to California took forever! We're in LA and I've always wanted to come to LA, so I'm gonna make this experience unforgettable!

We came out of the airport. Everything was 100x better! It was hot rather than random like in San Antonio.

"Oh, my God!" I screamed as I looked around the outside of the airport before jumping into our cab.

Andrea and Jenn just laughed at my excitement.
