Once I arrived in Seoul I managed to get my own cab and give the driver the address I was going to. He dropped me off on a corner of a cafe and and pointed to the right.
"You go." said the driver . I quickly smiled , bowed and thanked.
Wow I really need to learn Korean ASAP.
I soon began walking , hopeful to find any sign of Nicole .
Where the hell do I go from here.
What does that even say?
Struggling with two suitcases and a backpack , I just starting to walk on a small lively street that was somewhat peacefully. Building after building , I kept walking just before I felt like I was going to collapse before I go any further .
I couldn't understand any of the signs on the buildings , for all I knew I probably passed the apartment.
Things weren't going well.
Ah a cafe, just get some coffee and wifi and find out where you are
I dragged my luggage up two little steps and quietly ( or so I thought) rolled them to the first empty table I saw. The cafe was dim-lighted with thin Christmas lights outlining the Crimson brick walls. The cafe even had a porch in the back, a garden room which was covered in green vines.
This is perfect.
As I got comfortable , I eventually got the courage to order my coffee.
"Hi, uh, can I have a medium ice coffee?" I said, forgetting for a minute that I don't know a word of Korean.
The waitress looked a me blankly.
"Ice Coffee?" I repeated slowly.
"han Iced Americano hasibsio" I heard a sleek voice behind me say .
"You're American right? I can tell" said a pale boy with a sly smile.
"Can you really tell? It's my first day." I said shyly.
"Well then, Welcome to Seoul! This one is on me." He said chuckling as he handed the waitress cash.
Um what is happening right now ?
Awkwardly standing there in shock, I put my wallet away he turned around and gave me a huge smile.
"My name is Jung Hoseok, but my friends call me J-Hope." He said as he handed me my coffee.
