Finding Emma

Chapter 5

They were back on the Jolly Roger sitting in the training room on their way to Wonderland. Hook sat down on the window seat and ran his fingers through his hair. "God, how can I be so stupid?" He said leaning his head against the wall.

"Well, I've only known you for almost two months but I can think of something" she teased. "Sorry. But what happened?"

"A lot happened. I had plans to kill the royal family and she overheard Turner and I talk about how she was the princess so when I first figured that out those plans disappeared, she thought I always knew she was a royal"

She nodded. "I could understand why she would want to leave"

"Aye, but I have to find her to explain what happened"

"And that's exactly what we're going to do. There's only two more places she could be. Wonderland or Port Royal and we're on our way to Wonderland now"

He nodded. "We have to be careful of Cora though"

"Cora is the Queen of Hearts?!" She almost shouted.

"Aye, how do you know her?" He asked.

She sighed. She wasn't very open about speaking of her past but she was going to have to do it eventually. "When I was young, about 5 years old, my village was slaughtered. Most had their hearts ripped out or--"

"I get it. But keep going"

She nodded. "Well, my parents died and that's why the Charming's took me in. Cora was the reason for all this"

"I'm sorry, love" he said truthfully.

"Nothing to worry about"

"When I was a child my father abandoned my brother Liam and I. He sold is to an awful captain. Later on, when Liam and I were much older, we were serving in the Royal Navy for the king. He sent us to Neverland to get a plant which we were told was a cure"

"Dreamshade" she said.

"Aye. Pan paid us a visit and warned us about how it was a poison. Liam, being the stubborn arse he was, cut himself with it to prove that our King was right. It just proved that Pan was. We were able to get a cure for it but not knowing the cost. We left the island...and...and my brother died moments later...in my arms" the memories flashed through his head. "After that my crew and I vowed to never serve that King again. We became pirates right after that"

"Wow, Hook. T-That's awful. I-I'm so sorry"

He just nodded. "We should practice. The Wonderland guards are skilled"

She nodded and they started to fight.
