Felix

The leaves crackled beneath my feet as I walked faster and faster towards the special place. Somewhere inside me I hoped Sienna would be there too, but I scolded my head for thinking that. I had to keep Ella happy, and if being with her made her happy, then it is what I would do. Anyway, Sienna and I already solved our problem. It was for the best.

Suddenly, my world becomes a frenzy of dark red hair. "Felix!" Sienna practically pulls me down to the ground. "Sienna, what's wrong? What is it?" Sienna holds me tight and I can feel tears soaking through my tee. "Th-the camp, the Gov, they are gonna f-fight us, everyone's turn-turning on us." The girl can barely talk for all her hysterical breathing. "Shh. Take a breath. Tell me what happened. It's okay." Sienna sniffs. "It's not gonna be okay." She smiled sadly. "We're all gonna die, Felix." The tears start to fall again. "The Gov said they are declaring war. The other camps have all surrendered."

The information in no way surprises me. "It's okay. We can make it." I rub my hand over her long hair. "There's more. The people- they want to kill you and Ella. Especially Ella. I couldn't do anything, they were all shouting. They know you aren't really a fifth. How could you not tell me?"

This information does, in fact, surprise me. I am taken aback by the new circumstances for me and Ella. "There are so many rumors flying around. Everyone is talking about a spy, a sort of virus the Gov can use, that that's the reason why all the other camps were found. Including this one. And everyone thinks that the spy- is Ella." Sienna has stopped crying, but her eyes remain red-rimmed and swollen. My hands are shaking. "Sienna, you have to believe me. It isn't Ella. It isn't me. I couldn't have told you the truth, it could have gotten us killed. I'm so sorry." I take Sienna's hand, and luckily, she lets me. "Felix..." She whispers. I look down at her, but she isn't looking at me. I follow the survey of her wide eyes into the sky above the trees. Far ahead of us, making it's way toward the woods silent as a prowling cat, is an aircraft.

And on the side of the looming ship, is the emblem of the Gov.

The battle has begun.
