Rose's POV:
I walk down the streets of the giant sandbox all alone. I sent Colby away, and now I have no clue about how to get home. Breakfast was about as dramatic as a lifetime movie. From the mayor assuming Colby and I were having some forbidden romance to Colby asking about Isabelle, there was never a dull moment at that diner. I pulled my phone out to play some music as I walk. I'm not in the mood to hear the usual stuff I play, so I scroll through my playlist to find my music from The Beatles. I finally decide on Here Comes the Sun, and I can't help but laugh at the irony of the situation. I've been surrounded by the sun everyday since I got here three days ago, and the song sings about the sun returning.
After an hour of searching for the giant Easter Egg, I find it. It's going on eleven o'clock, and I know I'm going to have to face the parental inquisition as soon as I walk through the door. "Young lady where have you been?!" My mother yells as soon as I walk in the door. "I saw my friend on the beach, and he invited me to breakfast." I shrug. "Who Colby?" My dad speaks up. "Yes. He took me to this local diner." I tell him. "Why didn't he walk you home Rosalina?" My mother asks. "He had to go to work. And I'm 18. I can find my own way home." I say.
She looks down at her laptop, and I can't fight the anger that grows inside of me. She's the only one I know who'd try to work while on vacation. "All that matters is that you got home safety." My father says, clearly trying to defuse the bomb that's my mother and I. I shrug again before retreating upstairs; I start playing my music again, which was You and I by Lady Gaga, and I sing loudly along with her. "Rosalina turn it down!" My mother yells. I shout part of the song back down to her, and I can hear her getting up. She is soon screaming from behind my door telling me to turn it down or turn it off. I only turn it up louder, and soon my dad is screaming at me to cut it off.
I check my phone for the first time this morning and I have a few messages from Isabelle from the night before. Justin still hasn't woken up apparently, but I really don't care. I call Isabelle to pass time.
"Hey bitch." She says. I laugh at my best friend and say "Hey skank." I miss her so much, and I can't wait for summer to be over so I can see her again. "How's your beach boy?" She asks. "I had breakfast with him this morning." I tell her. Isabelle is silent for awhile, and I can already tell she's going to force me to tell Justin. "How was your breakfast?" She asks slowly. "The mayor thinks we're forbidden lovers but aside from that we talked about you." I say. "I'm going to ignore the forbidden lovers comment. What did you two say about me?" Isabelle says. Her mood has went up at least 50 percent since she brought up Colby. "He saw you on my lock screen and he asked who you were. I told him you were my best friend. You know my person." I say laughing. "You made us sound like Meredith and Christina." Isa says laughing. "And the worst part was that when he said Meredith and Christina, I didn't know who he was talking about." I tell her. We're both laughing extremely hard now, and I find myself missing her even more.

"Rose can you go to that surf shop and pick up more sun screen?" My father asks. "Sure." I shrug. I walk down the somewhat familiar street, and eventually get to the surf shop. I walk in and I see Colby helping some blonde in a tube top and booty shorts. She's definitely flirting with him, and he looks like he's flirting back. "So if I want to get a deep tan, which oil should
I use?" The blonde asks. Colby is staring deeply at her chest, and it makes me want to vomit. "You should use either Banana Boat SPF 4 or something." He says grinning; she rubs his arm. "Okay handsome." She purrs.I've never felt as jealous as I am now with Justin. Even with girls flirting with him when we went out, I was never this jealous. He checks her out, and I can see her scribbling something on a paper. "Just give me a call." She says. I blindly grab a sunscreen; I'm ready to get out of here. "Hey Rosie." Colby says when I get close enough. The blonde looks at me with disgust even though I don't say anything to Colby. He checks me out, and I continue to not say anything to him.
