Taylor

Me and Tremaine was sitting on the couch, watching Martin eating tuna sandwhiches his mom made us. I'm not a fan of tuna, but his mom's were good.

"Mom! I'm home!" Sydney yelled as she walked through the house "Oh? Hey Taylor! Hi Trey"

"Hi" I smiled

"Wassup? Where was you at? I hope you wasn't with no boys" Tremaine asked in a serious tone

"Yeah. My friends" she replied in a 'Duh' tone "I went to hang out with my friends for the last time before I leave tomorrow"

"Sydney!?" Mama April called out to her from the kitchen "Come here please"

"Here I come!"

She skipped into the kitchen as Trey sighed. Lol. I looked at him and he shook his head

"What's wrong?"

"How am I suppose to protect my sister when she gone be all the way in North Carolina?"

"How old is she?" I chuckled "I don't think she needs you to protect her all the time"

"Well I'm always gone protect her, she's 16. Nowadays girls that age get pregnant and hang out with the wrong crowd. I don't want that for my sister"

"I doubt she will hang out with a wrong crowd in North Carolina at a gifted school"

"Well you never know"

We focused our attention back on the tv. Tremaine reached down to the plate and grabbed another tuna sandwhich. He wrapped his left arm around my shoulder and I hesitated to lay my head on his shoulder, but I did anyways. All of a sudden, I fell asleep
********
I woke up on the couch of Mama April's house. The tv was off and the whole house was quiet. I rose up from the couch as I looked around with my eyes

"Trey?" I called out for him. There was no answer "....Sydney?"

I got no answer again. I got up from the couch and began to walk around the house. Where is everybody? I heard footsteps coming downstairs and it was Tremaine's dad

"Oh hello" he smiled "Your awake"

"Uh yeah. Where is everyone?" I asked

"They went out for last minute shopping, to get some stuff for Sydney for her trip" he coughed as he covered his mouth "Excuse me" he walked passed me and went to the kitchen. I saw as he grabbed a mug from the cabinet. He grabbed a small pot from a cabinet as well as he filled it up with water "You want some tea?" He asked

"No thanks"

"I got the flu"

"I heard" I nodded my head "I hope you feel better"

"Thank you. You know what? I like you. I haven't told you that, but when you and Tremaine came to Sudney's going away party, he seemed different...like more happy"

"He wasn't happy before?" I asked as I sat at the kitchen table

"Not really" he shook his head "He started to miss his ex, Stephanie" he sighed "It was out of nowhere, and I always told him, he needs to move on. Find someone better, but...he couldn't take it. He really loved her"

"Was she good to him?"

"Oh yes" he nodded his head "She was a personal trainer, she always wanted the best for him and his health" he laughed "I remember she made sugar free jello, and she had all of us try it. Sadly, they broke up because they put too much time into their jobs and...Stephanie's parents didn't like Trey because he was black"
