Phantom's P.O.V
The room was silent as I looked at the board, all reapers eyes were on my back as I silently went over each possible reap. Very simple human souls posed no challenge but two names stood out. Orphilios an S rank demon too dangerous for me to go after but the one next to him, Armitus an A rank demon who's soul was priced quite high. I grabbed the image gently pulling it from the wall and turned to see my father bitting his lip. My father the great Grimm reaper was always worrying over me but even my mother knew I would do fine. Her smile helped me to relax as I looked down at the paper and my friend Morticia came over.
"An A rank demon, that's a bold move." Morticia said as she set her hand on my shoulder.
"Never am I one to be bold Morticia, I simply choose what will give me a challenge I can handle." I said and sighed looking down at the paper. Armitus' picture was of his human side had he not been on the reap list I may have been interested in meeting him, his eyes were a light mahogany color which went well with his dark auburn hair. He was tall about 6.5 but that didn't matter, I would get my reap and my pay. I smiled turning to see as Morticia walked over to the wall, she had light hair that seemed silver in the light, her eyes were a bright bold green. She was fit and her body was evenly curved. We shared a smile as she walked over holding an easy reap, but that was Morticia's way never going for something she couldn't handle.
"I will see you after the reap session." She winked and walked away to go study the human she had to collect leaving me to laugh lightly at her flirting. I walked over to my mother and father still smiling as one by one the crowed walked towards the wall choosing their reaps some leaving empty handed but that was no matter as rule all reaps needed to be done in the end.
"You chose a demon again." My fathers words were cold as always with me when I choose this class spirit and I sighed.
"I can handle it well enough besides human souls are for those who are weak." I said quoting him from when I was a child and he left to reap a high level demon.
"Calm Grimm, he is your boy and just as powerful he will do fine." I smiled at my mother's soothing words, she always had that way even as a reaper he held this calm collected side that made most fall away from worry I loved it about her. My father let out a sigh and stared at me.
"Lillian Denom," he said raising an eyebrow at me and I sighed internally knowing where this was going, "Do you like her?" He asked keeping a gaze on me and I knew now was not the time to tell your father the Great Grimm that you were gay so I simply did as always and shook my head.
"Grimm let the boy find his own love at his own pace." My mother said as a loud bell rang and she smiled at me. "Be carful my dear son and bring that demons soul back." I smiled and nodded bowing to my father before pulling out my reaper weapon, and just like my father, I swung the scythe as it reached full length and the blade fell out.
"I always am." I said and followed the rest of the reapers towards the gates. There were six gates total, one to each destination a soul could go to. Heaven, Hell, Reaper Society, Fallen, Order, and Rebirth.
Fallen was where the souls of the good gone bad ended up, Order was where the souls of criminals and masterminds went for judgment, and Rebirth was where a soul went to be reborn as either a human, a demon, or one of the angel classes. Below the gates was the portal to the human world and as we all gathered here a path was made for me as I walked to wards it and closed my eyes taking a step over and falling towards the earth.
Now as ironic as this is the portal opened over the same graveyard as it had for years, above the statue the humans made of what they thought we looked like, or rather what they thought my father looked like. The creature with the long black robe and Great scythe loomed above us as we all shifted into our human forms and began our search. I stayed behind and looked at each grave reading the names so well when I noticed two boys standing at the far end staring down at a gravestone. The one boy was crying and hugging the other his short light brown hair swaying in the cold autumn air. The other boy knelt down and wiped the younger ones eyes smiling.
"Mom wouldn't be happy to see you cry." He said his voice was profound but held slight restraint like he was holding back tears for his own reason, I was captivated by the boy his shoulder length hair that just barely covered his eyes, his tall slim physic and even the manner in which he spoke. The boy kissed the younger ones head and muttered to him as he stood. The child nodded and began walking away but he did not get far before he screamed causing both me and the other boy to look up and I smirked.
Looming over the child was a tall muscular man with deep crimson eyes, his mouth was pulled back into a sneer as he looked at the child. This was no man it was Armitus.
"Anthony!" The taller boy yelled as Armitus wrapped an arm around the child.
"Oliver!" Anthony called back his voice cracking with tears and I growled causing all three to look at me.
"Come to watch me eat my meal little reaper." The demons voice called as I swung my the baton out to have my scythe extend.
"Armitus under the law of souls you have been placed under arrest and will be taken to the Order to be judged should you live you will be placed under lock writhing the gates of hell. This is my order as son of the Great reaper Grimm now surrender or prepare for pain." I said the speech was the same however I add the part of Grimm for he was the one to capture the first demon who remained in hell it gave me a sense of power over them I saw Oliver staring at us like we were freaks as Anthony struggled in the demons grip. Soon after my speech the demon dropped the child and lunged towards me I was shocked at first but soon regained my ground and leapt over the demon swinging my weapon into his back as he let out a screech and gripped his arm where the blade connected. I swung the scythe so the blade was behind me and smirked looking at the pain I had caused him he simply growled and went to the side, I watched him confused as he grabbed Oliver and held him up like a shield.
"You can't kill me dear reaper." The demon said in his true voice that sounded worse the nails on a black board and I stared in horror at the sight as the demon placed his hands on the boy.
"I am no ordinary reaper Artimus." I said as I went vanished from the demons sight but the boy somehow his gaze was stuck on me as the demon looked about in confusion and suddenly screamed as he tossed Oliver, I ran over quickly and caught the boy before he could become harmed. Placing him gently on the ground I made my way to the quickly dying demon.
"Armitus this last act shall be used in the evidence of the Order now I look forward to bringing you in." I smirked and lifted the weapon from his back and placed my hand on his head as the soul flowed from him and into me. I then turned and walked over to Anthony looking into his eyes. "Esma" I whispered and the boys eyes fell I looked up to see Oliver standing over me and I sighed looking into his eyes and whispering the same before disappearing back to the gates.
