Chapter 3: Joining the Rebels

Pipers POV:

Right after school was over I walked to the back of the school so I can get there first. I put my stuff down and laid my back against the wall while standing. After a few minutes I see Jason barely exiting the building. Once he walked outside he stood there wondering where I was. I didn't say anything because I was afraid someone would hear me call out his name and come wondering what's going on. So after about thirty seconds he finally saw me and started walking really fast toward me. I was about to say his name when all of the sudden he pushed me back against the wall really hard. Wow that hurt but I didn't show any signs of weakness. When he pushed me against the wall he had his arm across my shoulders and with his other hand holding a knife against my neck. In a scary tone he asked," Are you a spy for the Red Hawks?"

"No", I said trying to hide the fear in my voice.

"If not then how did you know I am one of the leaders of the Rebels", he asked pushing his knife harder against my neck.

"I was walking down the hallway because I left my notebook in one of my classes and I heard Percy, Frank, and you talking so I was curious on what you guys were talking about. When I found out you were one of the leaders I saw it as an opportunity," as I was talking I notice how cute he is with that scar above his lip. Stay focus!

"An opportunity to do what?"

"To join the rebels."

"How can I trust that you won't tell the Red Hawks who the rebels are?"

"If I were a Red Hawk I would have told the Red Hawks that you and your friends are the leaders and you would have been gone by this morning."

"How do I know that you aren't a spy and won't betray us during a mission?"

"Because my mom was a rebel," he still had his arm across my shoulder and his knife against my neck. I can tell he was thinking really hard but I couldn't tell what he was thinking about. After about 30 seconds he finally stepped away. He finally said,"Have you told anybody else?"

I look at the ground with a guilty look on my face. He stepped up real close, almost two inches from my face. In a low growl he asked," Piper who did you tell?" He stopped talking, waiting for me to answer. We stood there having a starring contest for who knows how long. Almost yelling he asked again," I will repeat myself again. Who did you tell?"

I finally gave up,"Okay,okay. I told my friends."

"Who are your friends," he asked while stepping away from me.

"Annebeth and Hazel."

"Why did you tell them?"

"Because they also wanted to join the rebels. They also want to stop the Red Hawks."

"Can we trust them?"

"Yeah. I trust them with my life."

"Okay I will ask my other co-leaders if you and your friends can join. Meet me here tomorrow after school with your friends and I'll meet you with mine."

"Okay," I said in a serious tone. He stepped up real close to me again. "If I found out you lied to me...," he stopped for a moment. " I will kill you."

Jason's POV:

As I was getting my stuff with my pocket knife in my hand. I was thinking about all of the possibilities of what might happen and what I am going to say. I was so nervous because what happens if it goes so far that I have to.... I won't think about it. I open the door to the back of the school. I stepped outside standing, looking for Piper for about 30 seconds. I finally found her. She stepped away from the wall. I was going to get this done and over with. So I walked really fast toward her, she was about to say something when I suddenly pushed her against the wall with my arm across her shoulders and my knife against her neck. In the scariest tone I can get I asked," Are you a spy for the Red Hawks?"

"No"

"If not then how did you know I am one of the leaders of the Rebels", I asked pushing my knife harder against her neck."

Don't get distracted!

"How can I trust that you won't tell the Red Hawks who the rebels are?"

"If I were a Red Hawk I would have told the Red Hawks that you and your friends are the leaders and you would have been gone by this morning."

She had a point so I asked,"How do I know that you aren't a spy and won't betray us during a mission?"

She looked at the ground with a guilty look on her face. I stepped up real close, almost two inches from her face. In a low growl I asked," Piper who did you tell?" I stopped talking, waiting for her to answer. We stood there having a starring contest for who knows how long. Almost yelling I asked again," I will repeat myself again. Who did you tell?"

"Okay," Piper said in a serious tone. I stepped up real close to her again. "If I found out you lied to me...," I stopped for a moment. " I will kill you."
