"Bailey! There you are! Where were you?" Bailey's mother asked her as she walked inside their house.
"Momma! Are you alright?" Bailey asked as she hugged her.
"Of course! Are you?" Her mother asked.
"I am now." Bailey said with a warm smile.
"Baby, I was so worried about you." Her mother told her.
"Momma I was worried about you!" Said Bailey.
"What do you mean?" Her mother asked.
"I heard you telling Daddy you were scared of the storm. I don't want you to be scared, I want you to be safe." She told her.
"Aw baby, I am safe. We all are. And you know what, you make me feel safe." Her mother told her.
Bailey looked up at her. She was confused.
"The day you were born, it was the first storm we had on the island. I was so afraid. I remember being in the hospital and hearing the doctor say everything was going to be alright. And deep down I believed him, but still I didn't feel safe. A few hours later, the doctor handed me you. And I held you for the first time. Right then and there, I felt safe. Now every time I see those beautiful eyes of yours, I feel the same way I did the first time I held you. You help me feel safe." Her mother said to her.
Bailey smiled before hugging her mother. Now both she and her mother are safe.
Early the next morning, Bailey woke up and looked outside her window. Only a few clouds covered parts of the sky above the ocean. Bailey smiled after realizing the storm has now passed.
She ran downstairs to the front door before opening it.
"Where are you going?" Jacob asked her as he carried their baby brother.
"I'll be right back.. I just have to do something." Bailey replied quietly before walking out the door.
"Can we come too?" Her brother asked.
"No! Stay here, I'll come back and tell you all about it. I promise!" Bailey told him with a smile before closing the door and running off to the beach.
"I wonder where she could be going." Jacob said as the baby nodded.
"Do you know where she's going?" He asked the baby.
"Disneyland!" The baby answered before they walked upstairs.
The waves were calm, the sun still hadn't risen yet. Bailey walked barefoot on the sand as she looked for her friends.
"Damian? Petrel? Are you here?" Bailey asked.
She looked all around the shore. She couldn't see anyone. She kept walking along the shore until she got to a pile of rocks. She climbed on top of the tallest one as the sun was about to rise.
Bailey's mother walked down the hall to the baby's room. She walked in and saw Jacob and the baby looking out the window facing the ocean.
"What are you two doing up so early?" She asked them.
"Parker wanted a snack." Jacob told her.
"Oh, what are you looking at?" She asked him.
"We saw Bailey looking for someone." Jacob answered.
"What is she doing out there? Who is she looking for?" His mother asked as Parker had some ideas.
"Mickey, and Minnie, and Donald, and Goofy, and.." Parker said before naming all the Disney characters.
The waves washed through the rocks as Bailey sat on the tallest one. She watched the sunrise as she waited for her friends.
Suddenly, Bailey heard Damian and Petrel. She turned around and saw them climbing up the rock.
"Here you are! You came back!" Said Damian as they approached her.
"Of course! Are you guys alright?" Bailey asked them.
"Yes, are you?" Damian asked.
"Yes," she said with a smile.
Bailey noticed that Petrel was carrying something as he flew above her.
"What's that?" She asked him.
"We made this for you." Damian said as Petrel showed her a crown made of sticks and shells.
"It's beautiful, but why did you make this for me?" Bailey asked them.
"You helped us make it across the ocean during the storm. Now we declare you, Bailey, queen of the ocean. This is our way of thanking you." Petrel said as he placed the crown on her head.
"But all I did was hang onto Damian. You both deserve this more than I do." Bailey insisted.
"But we couldn't have done it without you!" Petrel said as he landed on the rock.
"You helped me when I was stuck." Damian told her.
"And you helped me realize I'm more than just a "hey". I'm a Petrel." Said Petrel.
"And when we almost gave up, you helped us to keep going. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you, Bailey." Damian told her.
"Awh, thank you both so much." Bailey said before hugging them.
"You know, I was scared too. And I almost gave up. But then I remembered my family, and you guys. Then I realized that if I didn't do it, think of what could've happened if I didn't. I'm so glad I did." Bailey told them.
"How does it feel now that you did it?" Damian asked.
"Amazing." She answered.
Damian smiled as Petrel flew up into the air.
Bailey smiled and stood tall on the rock as she watched the sun rise above her ocean.
