High school; when everything really starts to matter.

You see, what you wear, who you hang out with, what you do before and after school, it all matters in high school. Those are the things that define you.

If you wear long flannelettes and ripped jeans, you’re a freak. If you wear long skirts and button up blouses, you’re a geek

I’d describe myself as both; a freak and a geek.

Long skirts with long flannelettes are my style, although I do get called nun and grandma a lot.

But that’s just clothes, who I hang out with would definitely label me as a freak. I hang out with the pot smoking, car trashing people everybody at school secretly wish they were but instead make fun of.

My activities before and after school are usually just sitting around while my friends all smoked pot.

I don’t, but everybody thinks I do, so along with nun and grandma, I also get called stoner. Which I’m alright with, I’ve been called worse things.

Plus, I only have one more year of educational prison and then I’m out of there. For good.

“So, what are we doing on Saturday?” I asked my friends as the five of us sat in Liam’s car. They were all smoking pot, of course, while I was chewing on my nails.

“Party at Tegan’s,” Jade replied, smacking my hand out of my mouth, “and stop biting your nails.”

I sat on both my hands so I wouldn’t be tempted to bite my nails again. “Ew, why are we going to Tegan’s?”

“Because, young and innocent one, Tegan throws the best parties ever.” I laughed at the thought of Tegan, the perky head cheerleader, throwing the best party ever.

“Will there be elephants?” I asked.

Jade rolled her eyes at me while Liam and Niall laughed. “Imagine Tegan riding an elephant,” Liam laughed.

“Ew, dude. Don’t say it like that,” Josh shook his head in disgust while Niall groaned and slapped him on the arm.

“Would probably fit. She sleeps around enough,” Jade muttered.

Liam laughed loudly once again and Jade smiled, snuggling closer into his side.

“Can we stop talking about the beastiality fantasies of Tegan?” Josh said.

Jade, Liam and Niall all started laughing obnoxiously loud. Effects of pot; you find everything hilarious.

A small smile reached my mouth as I looked around the four who were all now laughing. They may have been high, but they were still the best choice of friends I had ever made.

“Dude, there’s a party this Saturday. Tegan Sherwood,” Zayn informed me as he and Louis took a seat across from me at our usual table in the cafeteria.

I shrugged, “and?”

They both gaped at me, “and? And? This is Tegan Sherwood we’re talking about, and all you have to say is and? Dude, we’re going.”

“Whatever,” I muttered, reaching over to grab a twistie from Louis.

He pushed his glasses up and stared at me. “Dude, you do know that if we do something really cool at the party, then we’ll get noticed and maybe even popular,” Louis said.
