When I wake up food is on the table next to me. I have no appetite at first but after looking at the delicious food for hours, I give up and start eating and realize how hungry I actually was. I sit on the bed thinking the whole day but there is silence. Hwa Yeon doesn't even look in once. It feels like the things that yesterday happened were just a dream, but my arm is red from the mark her gripping fingers left on me.
After waiting all day, I eventually fall asleep and when I wake up the next day, there is food on my table again, Hwa Yeon still nowhere to be seen.
After a few more days like this, I decide to only pretend I'm sleeping but wait for whoever puts the food in every day.
So when Hwa Yeon silently walks into my room in the dark and puts the food tray on my table, I open my eyes and sit up.
She wants to go out of the room but I hold her back. She looks at me with big eyes. Is she scared of me?
"I never wanted to kidnap you" she says.
I look at her strangely. I didn't quite process her words yet.
"I never wanted to kidnap you, but they gave me no choice" she whispers barely audible, as if even the walls had ears.
"Who?" I ask, my heart beating fast.
I try to keep track of what is real and what isn't even though everything seems so unreal lately, but I know I'm about to hear something important.
"My guardians. They wanted to kill you" the murderous word seems to echo in the moonlit room.
"Why?" I ask.
"You're one of the most popular singers of the Korean Industry. Killing you would've gained a lot of money for many people. Now they are telling everyone you're dead... I have no idea have the police came to think of this place to search for you but they almost found you" she says and I close my eyes trying to stop my trembling in my anger and fear.
"Why didn't they..." I don't finish the sentence.
"Because I asked them not to" she whispers." I... told them I can keep you a secret, up here... I thought it would work out... I'm sorry..." she starts trembling as well.
I let go of her arm that I have been holding until now.
"So what will happen now?" I ask.
"I don't know. But I can't meet you" she says and walks out of the room.
I sit alone in my room and for the first time I am actually, really terrified. And I cry.
