(((this is gonna b like a irl chapter bc yea buddies)))
gerard hadn't spoke to anyone. everything for him was confusing and the fact that frank just left him hanging. he didn't know how to feel. because even mikey and pete were unable to help him. and his mother and father were concerned about his mental health. and it was even worse that it was valentine's day and gerard, for the nineteenth year in a row, didn't have a valentine. he thought it would be frank. he just, had a feeling. because frank made everything better. him and frank clicked like nobody else that gerard thought it was going to be. in fact, he thought he was right this time. he thought that after nineteen years of being alone, he wasn't going to be so alone anymore. and that's all gerard continued to think about. that's all he wrote about. that's what it was for gerard. that was his reality.
frank on the other hand, didn't feel like he did anything wrong. with what he had planned and all. because little did gerard know. frank had been planning this for weeks. and he even got help from mikey (with side help from pete, but nobody listens to pete's relationship advice). because frank had pulled out all the stops. he got the chocolate, the flowers, the card, and the giant teddy bear that because everyone was already twice frank's size was quadrupled. because frank was more excited about valentines day than he had been in his entire life. and he didn't know how gerard was feeling. but he thought that he was just as happy as ever. because that's how frank was feeling.
with a knock on the front door, with mikey opening it with a frown, before he sighed and tried to get gerard out of bed with saying "frank's here."
with gerard groaning and saying, "you tried that before."
frank stood outside, freezing in the february frost, but he thought that gerard was just tired. because, if frank was honest, he was too. but he lost sleep thinking about this moment. the one where gerard walked out, wrapped in his blanket like a burrito. he looked at frank, confused.
"come out." frank mouthed, causing gerard to look at mikey before mikey nodded and gerard stood next to frank.
the display may have been a little over the top. the bear holding the flowers, the chocolate, and the card. but gerard's grin was brighter than frank could've wished for.
gerard let go of his blanket and hugged frank, causing him to smile and hug him back. and suddenly frank wasn't freezing anymore- filled with gerard's warmth.
"i thought you hated me." gerard said quietly.
"i love you." frank chuckled, kissing gerard's cheek gently.
"i love you too." gerard blushed, hiding his head in the crook of frank's neck.
