I would advise you to listen to When You're Gone as it fits the chapter well :)

"A young girl about 15 with heart cancer has just gone into a coma and is now staying in Crumlin Hospital. I was told that her name is Chrissy Moone."  The news reporter announced.

I gasped, silent tears falling down my cheeks, wetting my throat.
"Mum, I've got to go to Crumlin and see Chrissy. I have to" I demanded.
She looked startled, still in shock by the news. She nodded firmly. "Of course. We'll leave right now."

We were in the car within three seconds, not wasting any time. I quickly texted Dad, letting him know where we were, while Mum sped out onto the road, and travelled towards Crumlin.
We spent the car trip in silence, her letting me think and cry without asking me how I was feeling.

Once we reach Crumlin, Mum quickly gets the ticket while I rush through the automatic doors towards reception.

"Chrissy -pant- Moone. Where -pant- is she?" I gasp, steadying myself with the counter to get my breath.
"And you are?"
"Best friend. Boyfriend." I reply.
"Only immediate family can visit her at the moment. I'm sorry sir." She informs, her face sour.

Mum runs in and stops beside me.
"Who are you guys?" A blonde woman, probably Chrissy's mother, says after walking in.
"I'm Chrissy's best friend." I don't mention the boyfriend bit, that information can be told later.

"Very well, you can go visit her. I'm Breeze, by the way." She sticks out her hand.
"Justin." I say as I shake her hand.
She leads Mum and I down a long corridor, the walls decorated with drawings the patients had done.
We follow her into a lift, which brings us to the step down unit, where the coma patients are kept. They may stay for months, until the doctors determine it is a persistant state and don't expect improvement. At that point, if they are otherwise physically stable, they are transfered to the long care facility.
We walk down the unit, seeing a long line of medium sized rooms.
"She's in there." Breeze points towards a room near the end. I speed walk to the room, then gently turn the brass handle.

The door opens to reveal Chrissy lying on a bed, blonde hair fanned around the pillow. Tubes are stuck in her, everywhere, along with a breathing mask, though she's capable of breathing herself.
She's surrounded by machines, them all beeping every second. I whimper, sobbing uncontrollably, my whole body shaking.
"Chrissy." I whisper, tears streaming down my face. The nurse gathers that I need some privacy and leaves. I grip Chrissy's hand, then lay a kiss upon it.
I'd just stopped crying when her aunt and cousin come rushing in. Her aunt lets out a sob, salty tear drops streaming down her cheeks. Max looks bewildered. Her aunt sits down, crying, trying hard to stop. Max runs over to me.

"Why is Chrissy sleeping?" He asks in a small voice.
"She's just going to be sleeping for a while, Max. She'll wake up soon though. Don't you worry."

Max doesn't reply, just sits on the bed. He takes a long look at Chrissy. He leans in slowly, kisses her cheek, then falls on her, crying. He hugs her fiercely.

I join them both in crying, us all sobbing loudly. Her aunt stands up, walks over to the bed, and along with Max hugs Chrissy. I hug Chrissy too, weeping.

Breeze and Mum walk in on Max wailing on top of Chrissy, me weeping on her side, and her aunt sobbing on the other side of Chrissy.

They all leave an hour later, as they realise it's upsetting Max to much. And themselves. I stay behind, giving her one last hug. I hover my face over hers, close my eyes, and lean in.
My lips connect to hers, staying that way for a minute, my tears falling into her face. I lift my head up, and wipe my tears off me and her.
"I love you" I whisper in her ear.

We had out first kiss, and she wasn't awake for it.

I was weeping listening to the song and writing/reading this :'( That was the saddest chapter I've  ever wrote.
