As she steps out of the train station, Cara's gorgeous brown eyes twinkle with wonder as she smiles. The cold winter breeze, flowing through her long light brown hair. The brilliant glow and lights of the city illuminate around her. The bustling streets were filled of people who lived the life of glamor. With her only suitcase in hand, Cara walked into the huge streets of Los Angeles.
The January air was full of upbeat jazz music, the non stop chatter of the city people, and the smell of delicious food fluttered above her head. Every time she looked up, Cara saw lit up posters and billboards of famous celebrities that starred in her favorite films.
While only 18 years old, Cara knew from the moment she began to step in the spotlight, she knew where her heart was calling to. With her parents blessing, Cara left for L.A. to pursue her dreams. Becoming an actress was her passion and the real reason why she was heading towards the golden gates of Hollywood at this very moment. As she moved through the passing city people, Cara's strong spirit rose. Even though Cara knew that becoming a world star actress wouldn't just happen overnight, acting was her life. It gave her new opportunities and hope. She felt true beauty and emotion when she was in front of a crowd or on stage.
"One day, I'm gonna look back at myself later and say... 'I made it'..." She spoke as she smiled bright. As Cara could see the entrance of L.A.'s biggest and most famous filming studio, Hollywood Films, that was only a couple blocks away, she then stared up ahead at the city's jumbotron screen. With wonder-filled eyes, Cara stopped in her steps. It was as if she was stuck in time. There on the screen, was the face of the"Princess". But known as the most gorgeous creature in the entire planet but one of America's youngest rising stars, Cara knew immediately as she gazed into the girl's solemn face.
Rosella Amata.
Cara sighed heavily as she looked up into those stunning and alluring gray-blue eyes of the most popular actress. Something in those eyes held something deep and almost something precious and lost in them. The actress' serious gaze was powerful, but her youthful glow added an illumination to her beauty. Cara remembered watching on television how Rosella Amata had won the Golden Actress Award last December. She had made it her dream to win that award one day, and hopefully, a small role in one of Amata's big time movies just might be her stepping stone towards the top.
As she gripped her coat tight around her, Cara came back to reality and rushed her way through the sea of people. The huge golden gates of Hollywood Films opened grandly for a slick black limo, and as her heart leaped with hope, Cara ran through behind. With one step inside, it was like she was in a different world. Cara's face brightened with wonder.
There were hundreds of thousands of crew members. There was also many filming building departments, each spacious and open. Everyone was bustling into action. Actors, actresses, and back up dancers or singers were rushing through departments to get ready for filming. Directors were focused as ever, bellowing out demands from within the filming site buildings. Film and set workers worked in synch while actors fell into their special place for the camera to behold. She felt like she was in heaven. As Cara entered the main filming studio building, Cara's excitement rose. One of Hollywood's best directors in the business, Walter Regino, was behind the movie camera with some of his film crew. She knew that just one part in his films will get her noticed immediately by many agencies. After a moment of thinking, Cara decided to go up to the director.
Walter Regino was reading the script and instructing his camera crew where to focus on the actors.
"Hello?" Cara spoke politely but with confidence. Director Regino peered up at her. He adjusted his flat cap and his reading classes. Regino smiled.
"Miss Didina, right? I had a call about you. Or shall I say, many, many calls. Your manager, Loraine promoted you to our company probably a thousand times." Regino chuckled. "It's nice to finally meet you." The director politely shook hands with Cara.
Cara lightly smiled. "It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Regino. Your films about the princess who must save her country from the enemy prince she loves are outstanding."
Regino smiled impressively. "I've seen a couple of your supporting roles as well, Cara. You are a truly talented girl-"
Cara leaped with excitement. "Thank you-"
"But it might not be enough to make it big in this other world." Regino's gaze was focused. "As a director, or an actor, or even a cameraman, this other world we create is for the real world to behold. Meaning we must always prepare, impress, and shine."
Cara's spirit dimmed only slightly, but her determination kept her at bay. "That is why I am here, Mr. Regino. Please allow me to be apart of your cast. I'll audition if I must for any part you give me. But I know deep in my soul that my life is here in this 'other world'. Being in films are my dream and I'll be more than willing to fight my way to be up at the stars."
Regino caught the glimmer in Cara's eyes and knew that the girl in front of him was beyond different than any that ever set foot in this studio. Regino also figured that Cara wouldn't take no for an answer either and he must get back to his filming pronto.
"Miss Didina, you have a bright light in you. You also have maybe more than enough beauty and charm to appear on screen. In this world, an audience must be guided with such powerful light. I'll try to cast a role for you. Remember, just because you are being basked in heavens glory at the moment, doesn't mean you are ever allowed to slack off from working hard.""I promise I'll work hard, no matter what," Cara's smile brightened. "Thank you so much, Mr. Regino! I swear I won't let you or this company down. I give you my word."
Regino had a fatherly smile as Cara shook his hand. "Good to hear. Now if you'll excuse me, Miss Cara, but I have a hit movie to film."
Cara laughed as she blushed slightly. When she turned to leave, Cara's spirit rose higher than the skyscrapers themselves as she felt a new hope for her future.
