Geek to Chic Chapter 17

Before Josh left the Cafe yesterday, he gave me and Georgie his mobile number. So I decided to text him and ask him if he wanted to meet up with me at the park near the swimming centre. He replied saying sure so now I'm sitting on a cold bench in my shorts and t-shirt, poking my fingers through some holes in the bench.

"Hey" I hear a deep voice say above me, I look up and see that it's Josh.

"Oh, hey" I say grinning.

He sits beside me and after around a whole minute of silence he finally speaks.

"So, do you wanna go over to the swings, I assure you they're more fun than this bench" He says laughing.

I laugh too and start walking over to the swings with him. I sit down and start pushing my legs in and out to make the swing go higher.

"Let's have a competition, whoever swings the highest will win this amazing apple" He says pulling out a red apple from his trouser pocket and placing it on the tissue he just layed on the floor.

"Wow that's an amazing prize, what are you that horrible queen out of 'SnowWhite and the Seven Dwarves' trying to poison me with a red apple?" I say laughing.

"Maybe I am, but I assure you, it's a delicious apple and I know you will love it" He says laughing while poking my nose.

"Okay are you ready, in 3, 2, 1 and swing" I say not too loud because I don't want to disturb the other people that are here.

At the moment, I would say I was winning, but It looks like he's about to over take me. Oh well, it's not like the prize is £1,000,000.

I notice him start to slow down a bit, is he letting me win? I start slowing down too because it's obvious who the winner is, me! Wow, I've never won anything before, even though he slowed down to LET me win, I still call that winning.

Once my feet hit the ground I jump off the swing and start doing a weird dance saying "Oh yeah, I win!" I don't know what came over me next but next thing I know I ran over to kiss Josh, ON THE LIPS! But he soon pushed me away, obviously that would happen to me.

"What the hell are you doing?" He asks with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"I'm sorry, I-I don't know what came over me" I say sounding hurt by the fact that he pushed me away when I tried to kiss him.

"Yeah, you should be sorry, I have a boyfriend" He says picking his apple up and walking away from me, probably going home.

Wait what the hell did he just say? I can't just let him walk away without giving me some answers first.

"Woah, hold up a second, you have a boyfriend? The main question is, YOU'RE GAY?" I say shouting the last part in disbelief.

He glared at me and said "Yes, it seems like you've got a problem with gay people don't you, well in that case, you can just leave me alone" He said running away with a hurt look on his face. I can't be bothered to go and catch up with him because I'm too shocked and he's also very far away from me now. 

I can't believe this, we were eating lunch together yesterday, and he never thought to mention that he was gay?! Great, well that's my plan flushed down the toilet. Now I don't have a distraction from Adam. Oh why does life have to be so complicated?! And for his information, I have nothing against gay people, I'm just surprised, him of all people had to be gay. It's so typical.

I have finally reached my house, it seems like my house is the only place I can properly think about the crap that constantly goes on in my life. I have decided not to go to and see my therapist today about Josh being gay, because she said that I should hang out with both of them to see who I like best, so I think she's not expecting me to be back until I have hung out with both of them. But by the looks of things, it doesn't look like I have a many options. I mean, Josh is gay so why would he want to be my boyfriend? As far as I'm concerned, I'm not a boy. So that just leaves Adam, as much as a love him, I was really hoping to move on from him, to do me, Michaela and Adam a favour.

It seems i'm just in the way of Michaela and Adam's 'almost' relationship. Which I don't think is fair, so I just really want to back away from now on. Oh crap, I just remembered I'm meeting up with Adam after school tomorrow. Brilliant start to not having anything to do with him anymore! Not.
