I'd just like to let anyone reading know that some content in this book belong to the J.K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter. This includes some characters, such as Rose and Albus, some places such as Hogwarts and also a small passage that has been bolded and italicized. If you have not read any of the Harry Potter books or completed the series, I recommend you read the other ones before reading this one. Also, this is the first fan-fiction I have ever written, so I hope you truly enjoy! Have fun reading Albus Potter: The New Generation. =====================================================================================
Hello there Albus Potter... It'sssss nice to meet you.
I wake up, drenched in my sticky sweat. I notice the dampness of my pillow as I plop my head back. When will I ever stop having these dreams? At least they don't happen every night... I look at the time. 7 A.M. I slowly get out of bed and change myself.
"Welp, today's the day!" I exclaim as I stretch myself. "First day of school; Hogwarts, here I come."
_______
I stare outside the glass window, noticing how different the outside really is. The world out there seems so peaceful and serene. The sky is bright and serene with owls occasionally flying by. The hills and plains roll by like a smooth roller coaster ride. I wish I could be like that, an bird that lays high in the air, free from any pressure. I lay my head on the glass, reflecting on the things my father had told me at the train station.
"Bye, Al," said Harry as his son hugged him. "Don't forget Hagrid's invited you to tea next Friday. Don't mess with Peeves. Don't duel anyone till you've learned how. And don't let James wind you up."
"What if I'm in Slytherin?"
The whisper was for his father alone, and Harry knew that only the moment of departure could have forced Albus to reveal how great and sincere that fear was.
Harry crouched down so that Albus' face was slightly above his own. Alone of Harry's three children, Albus had inherited Lily's eyes.
"Albus Severus Potter" Harry said quietly, so that nobody but Ginny could hear, and she was tactful enough to pretend to be waving to Rose, who was now on the train, "you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew."
"But just say—"
"—then Slytherin House will have gained an excellent student, won't it? It doesn't matter to us, Al. But if it matters to you, you'll be able to choose Gryffindor over Slytherin. The Sorting Hat takes your choice into account."
"Really?"
"It did for me," said Harry
I sigh at the thought of the conversation. Did my dad's opinion really influence the hat's decision? I mean, the sorting hat goes way, way, back to the beginning of Hogwarts, when the creators of the school were actually alive! Maybe the hat has gone defective or something?
There's no way it still has the wisdom to know which student gets to go in which group... Then again, the creators of Hogwarts, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin were smart people, they would've probably thought this through. I wonder how it was like for my brother James. James said he didn't have to do anything when he was getting sorted... Once he put on the hat, it immediately said Gryffindor! I hope my sorting is going to be as easy as his. Then again, he is my brother... He could be lying about this, maybe it was just as nerve-wracking for him as it is for me?
