After a good night's rest, we were finally all awake. We made our way to the common room where our prefects were waiting. Once we were all there, the prefects finally gave out a piece of paper.
"These are your schedules!" Tristan said. "If you ever need to find a class, just look at the bottom of the paper, it will have an arrow that'll point to where your class will be! Just to inform you that your first class will be History of Magic."
"Before we go for breakfast, Headmaster Fumbletore told us to notify you guys about snakes being loose on the premises." Chantal informs us. "Just be on the look out!"
The room suddenly filled with chatter, everyone talking at once about all the snakes.
"Do they bite?!" a girl asked.
"Do they have like a disease? Rabies?" another girl asked.
"Are they going to eat us?" Austin asked.
"Guys!" I yell as the room goes silent. "They aren't going to be able to answer your questions if you keep talking over them!"
"Ooh! Lover boy has a voice! Why don't you tell everyone about your girlfriend?" Derrick says. "I bet you have a lot of things to talk about."
I feel my face burning. I'm going to have to live with that for the rest of the year aren't I? Luckily, Chantal calls the group back.
"10 points from Gryffindor. Remember, you guys have to abide by the rules, you have to respect each other. Alright guys, just to answer your question, the snakes aren't in any way dangerous." Chantal says. "Now let's go eat breakfast!"
"Girlfriend!?" Rose exaggerates as she walks to the dining hall with me. "Seriously?"
"They were just teasing me for hanging out with you." I sigh as I continue to walk with her. "I told them that we were only friends. They just wouldn't listen."
Rose shrugs as we continue on to the dining hall. As soon as everyone was there, breakfast began to fill the tables. An assortment of food were being generated. After we were famished, a parliament of owls came in. One familiar owl came up to me with something in his claws.
"Hedwig Jr.! How have you been doing?" I exclaim as I pet him softly. "I've missed you so much."
"Ooh, looks like he's brought you a letter!" Rose notices "Should we get James? It might be for both of you."
"Hmm..." I look over at James who is busy talking with some of his own friends. "Nah, he looks like he's occupied at the moment. Let's only tell him if we need to."
Rose and I open the letter and find a letter from my dad!
Dear Al,
How is Hogwarts so far? A little birdie told me about you getting chosen to be in
Gryffindor! Congratulations! I told you that if you really want to be in Gryffindor you would make it! Also tell Rose that her dad hopes that she's having a great time in Hogwarts and has very high expectations. Anyways, I wanted to keep this letter short so you could enjoy your time at Hogwarts. Have fun!
P.S. Expect the unexpected!
Ssssincerely, Dad
"Wow! How'd your dad know you made it into Gryffindor?" Rose questions. "It's also kind of sad that my dad had to write in your dad's letter, oh well."
"Hmm... I'm just wondering about the last part he wrote in this letter, to expect the unexpected? He also put multiple s's in "sincerly." I ponder. "What does he mean by this?
