You and Lavi had been good friends for a long time. The two of you would spectate from the side lines watching the chaos around you the good and the bad.
And today you would do the same but today is no ordinary day, today is special, Today the order is having a ball.
Everyone was buzzing with excitement and Jerry was cooking up a storm.
Komui would refuse all of Lena Lee's suitors for her himself personally.
The chaos was not Komui but everyone else, they were rushing to get ready for the big event, while you sat quietly shy and not wanting to get in the way, hoping that Lavi would invite you to the ball.
But the afternoon passed and Lavi never asked.
The ball had started and everyone was dancing and having fun, Komui happily danced with his beloved sister and most of the men were dancing together in a waltz as the male to female ratio was practically o-1.
You on the other hand stood in the corner in your beautiful gown silently mopping that Lavi never asked, so you refused all requests to dance and sat at the table.
You let out a sigh irritated all until an all to familiar chuckle could be heard.
"Haha (y/n)-chan what are you doing over here? This is a ball you know why aren't you dancing and having fun?" Lavi asks tilting his head slightly.
"Because no one has asked me" you lied.
"WHAT NO WAY! How dare they!" Lavi coughs calming himself, "Well then I have no choice, (y/n)-chan would you do me the honour and dance with me."
You blush bright red, " I don't know how to dance" you say shyly.
Lavi smiles, "I can teach you, so would you please dance with me?" He says with his hand extended out to you, waiting patiently for yours to take ahold of his.
After a few hesitant glance towards his hand you gently place your own atop of his, "Fine, but your feet are going to regret this."
His smile widens and he escorts you out to the dance floor and the two of you begin to waltz.
You keep looking down trying to to step on his feet, "(Y/n) look up" Lavi says in a seductive voice gently tilting you face up to look into his eyes, "thats better."
Your blush deepens and you two continue to dance and you finally get the hang of it.
At the end of the song Lavi dips you, you let out a small surprised gasp and Lavi take advantage of it and places his mouth on yours and his tongue inside your mouth, in a deep passionate kiss.
At fist you do not kiss back out of surprise and shock that Lavi had actually just kissed you but soon after the shock passed you kissed back.
When the kiss breaks you look at Lavi your heart pounding in your chest, "Why did you kiss me?"
Lavi blushes but smiles, "(y/n) I have a confession to make, I hate being you friend.." You feel your heart break and your breathing stop, "because I love you."
You could believe your ears, Lavi just confessed his love for you! "Why didn't you ask me to the ball?"
Lavi was shocked at the sudden question, "I thought you would find it weird if I had asked, and I didn't know how you felt, I still don't, (y/n) please don't tell me I just made a fool out of myself, do you feel the same?" Lavi asks with big worried eyes.
You blush at his sudden confession, "your a Baka, I big aho, Baka but you are my big aho, Baka, I guess what I am trying to say here is.. Ditto" You smile at him and his face lights up and your chest feel warm and fuzzy.
Lavi kisses you and you kiss back.
And all of the lonely scientist cry and your friends cheer except for kanda.
