Tears flowed down your cheeks, dripping off your chin onto the surface bellow.
You were so happy, a huge smile had spread across your face as you ran forwards, no longer caring how much your legs burned or no longer caring how your lungs felt like they were on fire as every rash breath you took in felt like scorching flames; you couldn't care less that your arm felt like it had been torn of and stabbed repeatedly because of its broken state; all that mattered in that moment was him.
Lavi, all that mattered to you in this single moment was him.
His flaming scarlet hair was a beautiful contrast to the pastel tropical sunset, that coloured the once colourless sky.
His piercing green eye had a kind warmth as his eye finally landed on you.
He was badly battered and looked deathly pale, but his heart warming smile that felt so kind and gentle only grew as you approached him. You embraced him tightly ensuring that you were not dreaming, and he was really here with you in this one amazing moment.
Lavi wrapped his arms around you as he put his face between the crook of your neck. Soon you felt a wet warmth seeping into your shirt, only to pool onto your shoulder as he held you close.
"Please tell me I'm not dreaming" he whispered in a frail voice.
"Your not dreaming"
Lavi smiles into your shoulder and persisted in holding you even closer, never wanting to let you go again.
You both slowly separated, but only for a moment as your lips soon met in one sweet and loving kiss that expressed everything you felt in that one instant. No words had to be said once you two had parted as that one kiss had said it all, it has told you how he felt.
Lavi steps back, to your surprise he smiles as tears flowed down his face, "I love you y/n."
"Lavi I-"
"...But I'm sorry" you look at Lavi confused but then you see it that fatal crimson red that had spread across his stomach, sliding down his legs only to pool at his feet. "good-bye" Lavi steps forward with one staggering step as he leaves one final tender kiss on your forehead. "I forgive you" was the last thing he whispers in you ear as he collapsed by your frozen feet, your hand soaked in his crimson blood that was spilled by the dagger held in it's grasp, the one you used to stab the man you love.
Why? It's simple, because your an akuma and he was your pray; but no matter how many times you chant to yourself this single sentence, it doesn't stop the pain.
You buried Lavi, but instead of handing his innocence over to the earl, you gave it to a man named Kanda who happily destroyed you.
You where free.
