Royal Guard

CrazyKawaiiFangirl13 tell me what you think the story? I just finished the "last" chapter! This is really in a way, about brother vs brother and what family is.
At least that's what I got from it lol. What meaning did you get?

"Boy, you are going to become the royal guard for King Richard."
Jack's father put his hands on Jack's head. Jack sighed and faked a smile "yes father, I will make you proud."
"I know you will son. I love you."
David hugged Jack and started walking with him toward the huge kingdom of King Richard. Jack had been living in a small, broken down farm a few miles outside of the kingdom walls with his mother, Anne and his father, David.
David brought two horses out from the tiny barn and gave one to Jack.

All the other boys were all from 10 to 14. A strong, mean looking man with hard features name John Whitewash. John walked back and forth looking at each and every boy, "only one of you will get to be the royal guard for King Richard. Only the smartest, strongest and bravest will survive." He stopped walking and stood in front of Jack and asked "are any of you ready for the first challenge? Each of you will fight to the death, the last to live in each round will survive...for now."

"First up, Jack Von and Billy Frost!"
Jack walked forward to where a younger boy was standing.
Jack looked at Billy and felt sorry for him. Jack punched Billy causing him to stagger backwards. Jack kicked at Billy with all his might and tears fell from Billy's eyes. Billy jumped on Jack's back and dug his fingers into Jack's eyes while Jack punched Billy's small head. Billy fell off while bleeding. Jack felt mercy for Billy but he still kicked him.
"Show no mercy!" John yelled to Jack.
Jack sat on top of Billy and held his throat until he stopped moving.
Jack stood up, breathing heavy he walked over to John and bowed. John smirked and Jack felt a sickening feeling in his stomach.

Jack finished fighting a boy who was a year older. Jack stood tall when the boy fell.
John smiled, clapping, he went up to Jack and laughed "nice going boy," he turned to the older men who was watching, "this is our new royal guard!"
Everyone cheered. It had been three years since Jack left his father and mother, he was now 17 years old. King Richard walked up to Jack and smiled "so you are my new guard? Very good."
Jack smiled.
