James walked into the door of the cabin after she had been to the market. Jack smiled and kissed her as he whispered in her ear softly "you know, we have to go back to the kingdom. I have a job to do..." His voice trailed off. James shook her head "no we can't! King Richard will destroy us."
Jack shook his head and sighed tiredly.

Jack walked into the castle, the place he had called home since being a child, he spent more time living in the castle than his farm house. A young boy bumped into him, the boy looked about 13. The boy had true fear in his eyes as he stammered "I-I didn't m-mean too! P-please sir, don't hu-hurt me."
Jack chuckled and felt only mercy, the same mercy he had felt for the young thief who stole the apple. Jack smiled as his voice boomed but staying kind he spoke "my dear boy, it's alright. It was an accident, don't worry about anything."
The young boy shyly smiled and bowed his head before running off, leaving Jack alone chuckling to himself. Jack remembered being an innocent boy who only wanted to prove what he had, now he was a soldier for a King who he wasn't sure was all there. Each passing day King Richard was losing his mind until he'd go mad completely. Jack feared for King Richard's life, but then again, that was why he was there in the first place, to protect his King. Just around this time King Richard walked up behind Jack and wrapped his long fingers around Jack's shoulder. King Richard spoke quietly "good to see you back Jack. Showing mercy was always your weakness." At this he chuckled and walked ahead of Jack.
"Sir?"
"Yes Jack?"
Jack opened his mouth but shut it just as fast when he looked into King Richard's eyes, "n-nothing sir."
"Good"
Jack bowed as King Richard kept walking. Jack followed and they went outside to see the hanging. An old man and woman were standing on the wooden stage, ropes around their necks. Jack gasped at who the were. "Mom? Dad?" Tears formed in his eyes.
