"Ah yes the hunter," I said leading the two men inside.

Marcus and Richard are old... Coworkers of mine. Both of them are with the council as I am. Marcus is all about order and following the rules. Though he never liked cutting his black hair into a military cut. Richard is practically the opposite. He is reckless and lazy always trying to find the easy way out. His blonde hair is always messy and Marcus always complains about it. The two of them are partners for whatever reason. Everyone used to think they were a thing and we all still don't know.

"Alexis found him. I had no doubt there would be more of them. My hands are full as always, I thought someone else could deal with them," I continue.

"You know that's not the only reason we are here," Marcus mutters to me.

"Can we talk away from those two?" He glares at Alexis and she glares right back.

"But of course," I replied looking to Alexis who had made herself comfortable on the floor atop of the stairs, Julie who is crouching beside her. Julie stares at me with wide eyes and Alexis glare is full of venom.

"Ladies," I said smiling sweetly at them, "These two men here are old friends of mine. If you don't mind we'll be in my study. I do not wish to be disturbed unless absolutely necessary. Understood?" My eyes meet Alexis and she rolls her eyes at me.

"Yes. Understood. Totally." She mutters monotony as she stands and walks down the stairs. "God, I need a coffee. You want some Julie?"

"Actually," Julie said quietly, "Yeah, I think I will have some tea." She hurries after Alexis and disappears into the kitchen before her.

"This way guys," I said leading them to the stairs.

"We know!" Marcus huffed pushing in front of me.

"I see he is in a bad mood as usual," I comment.

"Indeed," Richard said smirking. I shake my head and walk up behind them.

"That's Alexis's bedroom," I said to Marcus as I walk past him. "My study is at the end of the hallway."

"I knew that!" He said defensively.

"No he didn't." Richard said sternly.

"What would you know?!" Marcus remarks.

"Enough," I command turning to glare at them. "In," I say watching them trial inside.

I close and lock the door behind me. "So" I said sitting at my desk "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"You know why we are here Lily," Marcus said sitting down as well. Richard stood behind him no smile on his face. Ah so it is down to business now.

"Should I assume it is about the hunters? Or perhaps it is about the human who is living with me?" I ask staring at him.

"The hunters are minor in this matter. The human on the other hand is important." Marcus says, "The council is concerned."

"I have my reason for Julie," I speak coolly, reaching over my desk to fix the stack of papers that I gathered from all over the room.

"Then you wouldn't mind sharing them, would you?" Richard steps back and leans onto the wall.

"Of course not," I said shrugging. "The school in which I am teaching at decided to take an exchange student. I was the only one with the means to take care of her."

"You should have refused." Marcus said stiffly, "She is in danger here. Especially with that blood sucker."

"Alexis is in control!" I glare at him, "I merely thought this would be a good test. So far Julie has been here for nearly 2 months and no harm has come to her."
