Old times

I give him a blank look when he asks me what I want to do, he's the one who should be deciding.

"You tell me, you're only here for a time. What do you want to do?" I stand up, grab my phone, and turn back to him with a smile that can't seem to leave my face whenever he's around.

"Why don't we go to the rock? Like old times?" He suggests only making me smile brighter.

"That sounds amazing. Let's go pack a lunch or something so we don't have to come back, oh and some blankets so we don't freeze to death." I exclaim grabbing his hand and pulling him up in excitement.

"Shouldn't you grab a jacket?" He asks and I give him an annoyed look.

"Yes, sir." I salute, going to the closet and grabbing a black leather jacket of my own and one of his.

"We good?" I toss him the jacket and put my own on.

He takes a couple blankets from the blanket box I keep beside my bed and nods.

We walk out of my room, down the stairs, and into the kitchen to make a lunch to bring along with us.

"I'm just going to make pb&j, is that good with you?" I grab the bread and peanut butter while he gets the jelly.

I'll take that as a yes.

"Do you guys have any chips or anything?" He asks and I shrug as he looks through the cupboards.

"Depends on whether the boys ate them all or not." I put the sandwiches into separate zip lock bags.

"Got some!" He exclaims and it doesn't take me long to hear the crumpling of a chip bag being opened.

We fill two Ziploc bags with the chips, which happen to be Doritos, and I stuff them into a bag I happened to grab out of my room.

"Can you grab some water bottles from the fridge?" I zip up the bag once I have the chips and sandwiches inside it, being sure the chips are on top so they don't get crushed.

"Sure." He goes to the fridge and takes two water bottles out of it, tossing them to me.

I stick them into the bag's side pockets before strapping the bag onto my back.

"We should be all set." I mutter to myself before walking to the living room to find my mom watching a rerun of 'The Bachelor'.

"We're going out, ma." I inform her as we both head for the door.

"Okay, sweetheart, just Be back before dark." She states as I open the door.

"Love you." I state and Shawn smiles so I punch him lightly as we walk out the door to where my mom wouldn't notice.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" I hear her shout after us and I laugh.

That'll be easy.

We walk through the woods in silence until we get to the clearing.

"So how is the tour?" I try to start up a conversation.

I want to talk to him as much as possible before he has to leave again in a couple weeks.

"Great, everyone's awesome." He exclaims with a bright smile.

"I'm glad. They aren't as awesome as me though right?" I tease and he shakes his head playing along.

"Never."

We get to the rock, but I have some trouble getting up.

By some I mean a lot.

"A little higher." I tell him as he boosts me up.

"Perfect." I grab a hold of the top of the rock and pull myself up.

"Thanks for helping me up." I chuckle loudly once he gets himself up no problem.

"Your welcome, but for the record, I just wanted to touch your butt." He jokes and I slap him on the arm.

"Jerk." I state as we lay out one of the blankets on the top of the rock, being sure not to cover up our carving we made when we first found it.

I still remember when we carved our names into this piece of Earth and claimed it as ours, it is certainly one of my most happy memories.

I lay down on the rock and look up at the sky in thought.

"Do you like Camila?" I come straight out with it, no sugar coating anything, no lying, at least... Not on the rock.
It was a promise we made each other when we were little.

"What?" He almost chokes on the chip he was eating and I turn to him.

"Well do you?" I pester poking him in the side with my finger playfully.

"No, I don't. But there is this one girl... I've known her for a while, since I was a kid. I just don't know how to tell her how I feel." He confesses giving me an almost hopeful look, a look that makes me turn away.

Why couldn't you just like me?!

"Seems to me...That you should make a move on this girl before someone else does. She's not going to wait forever, even if you are the amazing Shawn Mendes." I tell him sadly as I look up to the clouds.

"I want to, I really do, but I just don't know how..." He continues, but I don't want to talk about it anymore.

"Yeah, I know how you feel." I mutter before stealing one of his chips and popping it into my mouth despite the look he gives me for it.

"Hey!" He exclaims and I giggle after I swallow it only to be attacked.

He throws himself on top of me and starts to tickle my sides wildly.

"S-s-top." I giggle trying to grab ahold of his hands and stop him before we fall off the top of the rock and into the lake not far beside it.

"Make me." He challenges before pausing and I smile at the invitation.

Even though it is an invitation I could never take, considering the fact he likes another girl.

Or maybe I could.

I take my hand and bring it towards his face to caress his cheek.

He closes his eyes for a second and I pull his face closer to mine as his fingers slowly stop moving.

I have wanted to do this all of my life.

The moment our lips touch the world seems to stop spinning around us.

I can feel my face start turning red when he doesn't respond and I nearly pull away, until he does.

I nearly squeal in joy when he starts to kiss me back.

Wait why is he kissing me back?

I throw myself into the kiss.

If kissing was a language, then Shawn would know how I feel about him and more just from this one kiss.

I savor the kiss, knowing this will probably be the last one I'll have with him.

We pull away after a moment, breathless.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I did that." I mutter, as he pushes some hair from my face gently and moves to lay beside me.

"This doesn't make anything awkward, does it?" I panic turning to look at him with wide eyes.

"Of course not." He smiles happily at me and I let out a deep breath.

"Thank you. I don't know what I would do if I ruined our relationship by kissing you." I rant causing him to chuckle deeply.

"Not that I didn't want to kiss you, because I did-...maybe I should just shut up." I stop myself before I can tell him how I feel about him.

"Me too." I think he mumbles, but I'm not sure, so I don't ask him to elaborate on it.

"Do you want to go swimming?"
