"Nice room..." I state awkwardly when he sets a large poster on his bed along with dozens of different writing utensils.
"Thanks, I cleaned it earlier today." He states as I look around the room to find it impossibly clean.
There is no way it's like this all the time...
I look out his window to see mine right across from his.
Uh, I'm glad I have a habit of changing in the bathroom. I really need to buy some curtains.
"Cool, so show me what you've done so far." I clap my hands and walk over to the poster.
"Sure, here sit down." He clears a spot for me on the bed and I deliberately sit a few inches away from him so he doesn't get the wrong idea.
"This is what I've got." He states and I look over his shoulder at the poster.
"It looks pretty much finished. Seems like you got this." I chuckle causing him to turn his head so our lips are inches apart.
I go to back away but he pushes his lips against mine forcefully, not like Shawn does it.
I push him away and escape over to the door.
"Where are you going?" He asks me as I look out the window in shock to see a shadow on the ground outside my window walking away angrily.
I brush it off knowing it's probably just a figment of my imagination.
"Far from you." I state harshly before running out of Brett's house and back over to mine confused as ever.
When I get to the door Shawn is there waiting for me underneath the porch light.
"Hey." He states aggressively, causing me to revoke the hug I was just about to give.
"What's wrong?" I start to panic realizing that the shadow outside the window could have been him.
"Nothing, did you have fun at Brett's?" He pushes me away when I try to explain.
"Shawn...It's not what it looked like. He told me he needed help with his science project!" I exclaim as Shawn storms away with me trailing not far behind.
"Looks like you guys did a whole lot of work on that!Let me guess it was a 'biology' project?" He turns around and shouts at me.
"He kissed me Shawn! I-" I try to explain but he cuts me off angrily.
"It takes two to kiss, Lydia! I should have known... You don't actually love me! You're just pretending to be in love with me so that you can get noticed." He yells as tears fall down both of our faces.
"I pushed him away Shawn, you've gotta believe me! I do love you Shawn, more than anything... I thought you trusted me. I thought you loved me back!" I sob angrily and we both go silent.
"Well, you were wrong...I hate you Lydia." He states venomously through clenched teeth and I can feel my heart breaking inside my chest.
"You don't mean that..." I croak but he ignores me.
"Goodbye, Lydia." He opens the door to his house and slams it behind him leaving me to collapse onto his front door step.
How could this happen to me?
"I do love you, Shawn." I whisper towards the closed door before weakly standing up and running for home in a blur of tears.
He's just hurt, he's just hurt.
I run the words over in my mind to try and block the others out. When I get to my room I shut the door behind me and slide to the floor in tears.
Everything will be alright in the morning...

I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
I run through the woods trying to escape from the monsters chasing me.
"I HATE YOU, Lydia!" The monsters shout loudly when I trip over an outstretched foot.
"I hate you!" The voices whisper one last time before suffocating me with their large bodies.
The person who tripped me laughs melodically and the last thing I see is his beautiful face.
"I still love you." I whisper before letting the monsters overcome me.

"Lydia! Wake up!" My brother shakes me awake and I find myself drenched in sweat. My palms are bleeding from clenching my fists so hard out of fear.
"Sweet heart, what's wrong?" My mom rushes into the room in envelopes me into a hug as I cry into her shoulder.
"Something bad happened, something really bad." I start to hyperventilate and she rubs my back sending my brother out of the room.
"Calm down. Oh honey! Did you do this?!" She takes my hand in hers prying my fingers back carefully.
"I just wanted them to stop, mom. I didn't know what was going to happen!" I sob burying my head in her shoulder.
"Its alright, calm down. Everything is gonna be alright." She assures me and I shake my head.
"No, mom. It's not."

"Pick up." I cross my fingers tight hoping that maybe this time he'll answer the phone.
"HI, Shawn Mendes here, Please leave a message at the tone." It goes to voice mail once again.
"Come on, please pick up..." I whisper with trembling lips.
"HI, Shawn Mendes her-" I end the call and dial it again aggressively.
"HI, Shawn Mend-" I end it again.
"HI, Shaw-" End, and redial.
"HI, S-" Run fingers through hair, End, and redial.
"H-" I end the call and throw my phone at my pillows in aggravation.
"He's got to let me at least explain!" I exclaim to myself.
Suddenly my phone starts to ring and I rush over to it and answer it, glad I didn't throw it at the wall.
"Shawn?"
