I wake up to the sound of my Great Dane/German Shepherd/Lab mix, Harley, growling and my brothers running through the house, right past my room. Despite them being 18 years old, they act like they are five unless it involves the horses or their girlfriends. Jakob and his girlfriend, Kylee, have been together for two years but she has been my best friend since we were 5. Jordyn and his girlfriend, Tailor, have only been together for about 2 months but she is already considered to be one of the family. Tailor and I have been riding together since we were 10. She is the main reason I got into other events besides Western Pleasure. Strangely enough with her dating my brother, he rides only Western and has never ridden English a day in his life, while she primarily rides English with occasional barrel races in town. Ever since I can remember, I haven't been very concerned in the whole dating aspect of being around guys. I've only had one boyfriend, even though too many guys flirt me, a bull rider named John, and after he cheated on me, I haven't trusted any guys the same, although I've come close to dating tons of guys, of which none have been around long enough, but my whole family constantly pesters me about when I'm going to find a guy, which makes me not really want to date... With Harley growling and moving around my room, there was no hope of me getting back to sleep. I look at the clock and see that it's only 5. Knowing I'm not going to get back to sleep now, I drag myself out of bed, and walk over to my decent sized walk in closet to pick out a pair of nicer riding clothes. Once I'm dressed and have my hair done, I run downstairs to grab a light breakfast before running out of the house to go take care of my horses before I can practice for the upcoming shows and rodeo. Not counting the horses I have in for training, I have a total of 7 horses. My two western show horses, my English horse, my rodeo horse, a foal and a yearling, and my new ranch horse. Along with those 7, I also have 3 horses currently in for training. Every day I have to feed, water, and turn out all 7 horses to make sure they don't develop bad habits from boredom. While they are turned out I usually clean their stalls and make sure their stalls are done, I wait to feed them until I have their stalls cleaned and all of the horses are out, so that I don't have to deal with them getting ornery with me. I am lucky enough to have my own 10 stall barn with a wash/grooming stall, tack room, and a feed room, for my own horses and my training horses.
