As darkness parades around my soul
Heartbeats echo through the void
Where there once was light there is just a hole
I try to hide these inside
But my heartbeats echo through the dark
Pounding through to reach the light
Can you see my heartbeat's spark?
The spark that I cannot hide
For you are both the dark and the light
What to do I cannot choose
I can't decide what is wrong or right
From you I know I can't hide
I need you to be the one to choose
While I am trapped by my mind
For with every beat my heart you bruise
Because you're not by my side
I hope one day you'll see my distress
But until then I will be strong
Strong enough to cope with the darkness
Hoping our hearts will collide
Because when they do I know for sure
I will find all I look for
There'll be no darkness to endure
And our heartbeats will be tied
