The All Too Boring School Day

I see him, kissing another girl, as soon as I get out of first hour. Hunter's bulky build practically covers Emily. A small, nail painted hand combs through his dirty blond, military cut hair. I was just standing there, in the middle of the hall during passing time, watching them. I'm practically paralyzed. I don't know what to do. Frustrated classmates push past me, which finally gets me out of this trance. I quickly make my way to a spot by the drinking fountain, where I could see them, still kissing. When they finish, Emily's smiling. I mean, who wouldn't be smiling like a fool? They just kissed Hunter. Any girl would be; I know I did. But he wasn't smiling like a fool. I don't even care...He's not mine, he was a long time ago. But...Why do I feel like I'm on edge? No, this isn't edge, it's... What is this? Jealousy.

I shake my head, clearing the current train of thought. I make my way to my locker. Which is next to Hunter's. At the beginning of the year it seemed like a good idea. We were dating, and said why not. Every day I have to wince at them kissing, leaning up against my locker. My locker, she has one of her own, and so does he. But I guess my locker's comfortable.

"Well, this is my locker. So move." I say with a matter-of-fact tone when I get close to them.

"Aw come on Cas. You were fine when it was us." Hunter says in a hopeful tone, I give him a look.

"Yeah, it was fine. But, not sure if you realized that this right here." I point to the locker Emily's leaning up against. "Is my locker. Yours is right next to mine." I flash them a fake smile.

"Let's just move, Huntee." Emily whines.

Hunter looks at me with a guarded expression. I raise my eye brows in question and mouth 'Huntee?' to him. He just shrugs and pulls Emily over to his locker.

"You know. You two can go to her locker?" I suggest as I did my combination.

"Where's the fun in that?" Hunter asks in a playful tone. I just know he's smirking. I put my books in my backpack and shut the locker door; watching them poke each other.

"Oh yeah. It just so much fun here." I say with a roll of the eyes. "Hunter, you should take that child somewhere else. This is a high school, not Disneyland." Flashing them a loving smile as I turn and head towards the gym.

The rest of the day was a blur. Gym was tiring, lunch was just gross, like always, and as for Accounting and English, nothing eventful. But at the the end of the school, Hunter and Emily weren't making out by our lockers, which was awesome. Going to sleep was the best thing that happened today.
