A Risky Car Ride Down Memory Lane

"Shhhhhii-, my alarm didn't go off!" I breath while flying out of my covers.

"Cas! The bus already went by! I can't let you use the car today!" Nova, my mom, yells from downstairs.

"Bob saget." I say under my breath while frantically brushing my hair.

"Have a good day hun! Don't forget! Friday morning Emmet and I are leaving for the month!" Nova practically screams. She has reminded over 8 times, this week. It's only Wednesday.

Walking to school really isn't my thing. Middle schoolers walked to school. Not high schoolers.

"Cas!" I barely hear over my blasting Chevelle. Pulling out my earbuds I see Hunter in his small green car, having that smile I miss too much.

"Ah, Hunter. Hi. Why are you driving on this road, you live like, across the town, and this is out of your way."

"I have a bone that detects females in trouble. And this morning it was hurting something bad." He nods his head. "So, I followed it here. And would you look at that. A female in trouble." He flashes me a proud smile and motions to get in. Sighing and opening the door, I plop down in his passenger seat. His smell assaulted my nostrils. I close my eyes and all those happy but sad memories wash over me.

"It's been a long time, hasn't it?" Hunter asks softly, his playful tone lost.

"Yes, it has." I breath opening my eyes. I give him a mopey smile in an attempt not to show him my feelings. He just laughs and takes off at 100mph.

I watch him while he drives. He always hated it, I don't know what's wrong with watching someone drive. I guess it just bothers him.

"Can you not? I can feel your beaty, brown eyes staring at me. I swear a hole is forming." He says and I just laugh.

"I think not, Hunter. It's funny watching you freak out." I smirk. He takes a sharp left making me hit my head on the window.

   "Really kid?" I complain.

"Really kid?" He mocks while parking in his usual spot. He turns to look at me. His light blue pools swallow me whole.

"Stop getting lost in my eyes."

"Then don't drown in my pools of shit." We both break out laughing at that.

"Ready for another day in..Give me a drum roll." Rolling my eyes I give a drum roll.

"Hell." He deeply exhales while trying to keep a  straight face.

"Yeah," I raise my eyes brows and nod my head. Emily is standing behind him with that bitchy look on her face.

"Is it Emily?" He whispers, with a slightly nervous look. I just nod my head and get out of his car. Walking away from that awkward situation.
