Oh, Emily. You're Trying Too Hard

Friday came as fast as my brother leaving for college. Wednesday and Thursday were very uneventful. All I did was spill my food on Emily and get weird looks from Hunter. Which was interesting, he normally never talks to me or even looks at me.

"Miss Novak? Are you going to answer my question?" A grumpy male voice asks.

Snapping out of my trance. "Uhh.. What?" I ask looking at the math board.

"What is the answer?" The math teacher snaps.

"I don't know, ask someone else." I say right as the bell rings. Grudgingly getting up, knowing what questions will be shot at me the moment I step out of the room.

"Hey Cas." Emily friendly says, despite the hate we have for each other.

"How may I help you little child? Did you lose your mommy?" I ask innocently with a devilish smile. Emily's face has a streak of rage then it's gone.

" No, my mom is not here. Thank you very much. But, I heard that; your parents are gone. For a month..."

"So, this little child wants to mooch off me for a party space, huh?" I say pushing through people to get to my locker. Surprisingly, Hunter isn't here.

"Yes, that's actually what I wanted. I've got all the people, the drinks, and food. All I need is a place, without parents. And you also live away from civilization, so.. It's a great idea!"

"I don't live away from civilization, I'm like one block away. I just have a big house with a big yard."

"But still, Cas, I really need a place... Hunter will be there." Emily desperately says, but there's an underlying bitterness.

"Wow, you really want this party; Throwing Hunter into the mix." I mumble.

"Did I hear a yes?" A deep, familiar voice asks.

"I guess, Hunter." I say turning towards him.

"Thank you, Cas. I, me, Hunter, swear that no one will break anything and/or throw up." Hunter promises with a chuckle.

"Yeah, sure." I wave my hand and head to last hour. I guess there's gonna be a party at my house tonight.

Last hour's art. Which went by fast, very fast. It's like two minutes passes and boom. I'm already home and dreading this upcoming party.
