“Okay that was so fake,”
“That doesn’t even look real!”
“Shitty movie,”
“Ah, come on, that’s terrible!”
“They could use better actors,”
“Would you shut up Marcus?” Rush finally gripes, considering he’s been criticizing the movie for the past ten minutes.
“Hey, give me a realistic movie, and I won’t have to gripe about it!” He says, pointing to the TV screen.
Rush only rolls her eyes.
We are watching the classic Paranormal Activity, and although it isn’t that scary, I’m still pretty freaked out. I mean, being in a completely dark room late at night isn’t helping.
We’ve watched five movies so far, this being our sixth. The boys ordered three large pizzas, and surprisingly, all of them were eaten in a matter of minutes.
I think Giovonni fell asleep about an hour ago because I can hear his soft snores from the floor to my right. Luciano is messing with his phone, obviously not affected by the scary scenes.
Rush sits next to me with anticipation. Her focus is completely on the screen, and she jumps whenever something pops out. Alexander is trying hard not to doze off, so his head occasionally pops back up. I laugh every time.
“You can go to sleep,” I whisper at him, and his eyes are very droopy. A sluggish smile covers his face.
“I’ll lean on you,” He takes his head, and lays it on my shoulder. His arm wraps around my shoulder, and his hair is poking my neck. I don’t see how my bony shoulder is comfortable, but he’s already asleep.
About ten minutes later of the movie, it shows the couple sleeping in the bed together. I know something is about to happen, and the wait is scaring me even more.
The time in the right hand bottom corner ticks by, and suddenly the sheets from the bed move. The legs of the girl moves, as if something is pulling her. Something pulls her off the bed, and quickly down the hallway. She’s screaming and clawing in the process. I jump, which knocks Alexander off my shoulder.
He sits up with a groan and rubs his eyes.
“What the hell was that for?” Alexander whispers, his voice groggy. I point at the screen.
He rolls his eyes. “Baby,”
Alexander goes to lay on my shoulder again, but I lean forward, making his head fall. I let out a quiet laugh and he sits up again, giving me a very annoyed look.
I lean back again, and I guess he’s awake now, because he doesn’t fall back asleep. I continue to watch the movie, which ends up me squealing and jumping every few minutes.
Thankfully the movie ends, and I shift positions to get my phone out of my pocket. It’s almost 10:30, and I know I should be getting home. It’s almost my curfew.
“Do you want me to walk you home?” Alexander says beside me, playfulness in his voice. “Or, would you like the demons to do it for you?”
His voice is taunting, and I glare at him.
“Shut up,”
Alexander stands up, and stretches his back. I try not to stare as his shirt lifts up.
“I think I’m going to take the Texan home; make sure that the demons won’t possess her,” Alexander jokes again, and I just roll my eyes. I say my goodbyes to everyone, and we leave the record store.
