The Mermaid and the Shark

I have always loved the humans. There things are so unique ; and they have a lot of freedom to do whatever they want. I have spent years looking at them; and there things as well. I want feet to do those things.

As I am swimming I see a ship. I quickly go up to the sky; and see the boat. Its about 5 feet away from me. I quickly go up to the ship to see it more. The ocean doesn't fight me as I attempt to get to the boat. Once I am almost at 1 foot someone grabs my tail; and drags me down. Away from the boat.

I quickly turn around about to give this person a piece of my mind. I really thought that I had gotten rid of my fathers guards. When I turn around though with a look that could kill someone I see who is behind me.

In the ocean we have lots of different sea creatures. Behind me is a shark! Its half man half shark. I quickly attempt to get out of there trying to lose him as I try to find the best way to go.

Oh why did I have to make my fathers guards go away. He will never let me out of the castle after this. As I swim I try to find some where with dense algae to lose the shark. They are fast swimmers; but they aren't quick enough.

Finally I see a dense forest of algae; and I tumble into it. I quickly try to go in many different directions hoping to lose the shark. Plus if my scent is all over the place then he wont be able to track me so well.

After a while I think I lost him; but just in case I turn around as I slowly back out of the algae trying to see if he Is anywhere.

Finally I am completely out of the algae. "Phew that was a close one Juvia." I say as I keep turning. All of he sudden I hit something. I look to see a well built chest that makes me blush. Oh no! I slowly look up taking in his weird sword necklace; and his face. His face is all angles; and he has gorgeous gray eyes. Wait! this is the shark guy.

Crap! I quickly try to find the best way to escape from him. I am out of breath though from my previous trying to run away. "Okay look here shark boy Juvia will let you go this once; but next time be ready." I say as I try to get away; but he immediately catches me. "Did you just call me Shark boy?" He ask looking very cold. "Yeah Juvia did now let Juvia go." I said while trying to get away again.

"Wow I have never had food that was that sassy." He says while giving me a visious smile. I try to swim again; but he catches me. "You know it might be best if you just tried to hold still; and close your eyes."

He said while he smiles at me; and shows of his sharp teeth. My heart beat increases as I close my eyes. Then I say "Juvia is ready. Oh by the way I forgive you." My hands are shaking so bad as I wait for the inevitable. I count to 30 seconds; and nothing. I remove my hands slowly just in case. Then I look to see him floating there with a weird look on his face.

"Whats Wrong?" I ask him trying to figure out why he is giving me that funny look. "Y- You forgive me!" He yells disrupting the whole ocean. "I was about to kill you; but you forgive me," He says in a weird laugh talk.

"Well it's not like you can control what you eat." I say while trying to figure out what is wrong with him. He continues to laugh for a couple of seconds while I just float there like a idiot.

"Okay i'm done." He says while still having that smile. His smile is gorgeous you can see his teeth; but its less terrifying. You can tell that he doesn't do that often. I just smile a little to; and then I'm laughing at the situation to.

Which causes Gray to laugh as well. His laughter is so gorgeous. All of him is gorgeous. His face is looks softer when he laughs. More childlike; and his eyes are like a warm gray color.

We both awkwardly stop after a little while Finally the awkwardness gets to be to much so I say "Okay well Juvia is just going to go." As I turn to leave the weird shark boy behind he says "I am going to spare your life Juvia; but just this once. If you cross me once.. well I will kill you." Then he swims away from me.

I quickly swim to my house or I guess palace. That shark guy was really weird. Oh well I will never see him; but for some reason thoughts of him stayed in her head.

I couldn't figure him out. Stop it Juvia! He isn't important. Finally I see my house in the distance. Okay so I am a princess; and I hate it. My dream is to be where the people are.

In Ligrion we have this tradition where every year when a merman/
Mermaid become eighteen years old they get to choose where they want to live. That's where I'm going the surface.

I know that not a lot of met people like the humans; but I do. They have so many wonderful things. I wonder if I'll get to see everything in my grove on land.

I collect human things. Now in my town we are filled In about the humans do we already know about them. We have people on land who report to us about different in there society.

I am so excited; but father would never approve. Then again it's not like he could stop it. I'll be nineteen. Besides my younger sister loves it down here. So I'm sure she will stay. Besides she has always wanted to rule the sea.

In six months I will be able to choose!! Well better hurry back home. Father won't be happy with me for running of. I wonder if I should tell him about the shark. Well 1 I don't Know his name and there are plenty of sharks that are grey.

2 The shark never really attached me. I mean yes he did threaten to kill me; but he didn't.

I just wing tell him about it. I hope he doesn't yell to much. I mean these are the fifth set of guards I've managed to escape so I can't imagine he is happy. Maybe I could just sneak up to my room. I begin to float carefully. Trying not to make to much noise. So far so good. Creak! The door sounds. My heart beats fast waiting to see if he heard it. My palms begin to sweat as I wait.

"JUVIA!!"

Crap! He caught me. Slowly I turn around to see my father.
