Chapter 6: A Living Barbie Doll - Just Add the Red Hair and Minus the Good Body

I slouch into school feeling like crap. I was tossing and turning all last night and probably got like one hour of sleep. That's not enough! And football try outs are soon I need the energy to practice. Ugh.

I walk over to my locker, feeling like there's something missing...oh yeah. Chloé is usually leaning against it on her phone, ready to walk to form with me. I feel a little pang when I remember the huge argument we got into, but try and ignore the hurt and anger that is still inside of me. I've never gotten into an argument like that before.

I open my locker with my key, get my books for the day and shove them in my bag. I'm just about to close the door when something pink catches my eye. I quickly grab it and raise my eyebrows.

It's a bright pink envelope with a little red kiss in the middle where the seal usually is, and on the back it has 'Amber' written in neat small loopy handwriting. I don't recognise that handwriting, but it has my name on it so it's definitely for me. I look around to check if anyone is looking - no, everyone is absorbed in their own conversation so I rip open the letter. It is a glittery card that has the words 'Have a Great Day! written in blue ink. I open the card and squint my eyes. Inside it reads in neon pink ink:

Dear Amber,

I just wanted to congratulate you on the kiss. It looked like so much to you! Now. I have some serious things to say to you.

1) Stay away from Reece.
2) Don't touch him.
3) Don't talk to him.
4) Don't even think about him.
5) And don't, don't, don't even think about kissing him.

If you break any one of those very important rules, I'll be sure to tell the whole school who you truly are. Yes, I know your little secret. I will reveal your identity to everyone, perhaps even the whole world. Oh dear, what a shame that would be!

Lots and lots and lots of fake love from,
(Well, I think you know who it is!) xxx

P.S. You're not a very good actress, honey ;)

I gasp in horror once I finish reading and kick one of the bottom lockers. I look down and see I've made a dent in it. I need some anger management lessons.

I clench my jaw and stuff the letter back in my locker, slamming it shut so hard that the whole corridor went quiet and all eyes were on me. I turn around, angry. Very angry actually. And I have no idea why. I give everyone a death glare.

"Well?" I hiss. "Has anyone got to say anything? Because if you do, I wouldn't be so sure of yourself that you wake up one morning with no arms or legs. Go back to your business now."

I feel better now, not gonna lie. I think hissing death threats to people really helps calm me down. Yep, I do need anger management lessons. For sure.

Slowly, the corridor resumes its normal chatter. Good.

"What's gotten your knickers in a twist?" Brandon chirps, hopping over to me. Ugh, sometimes he can be really immature.
