BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEP!!! I groaned. It can't be time for school yet! I covered my face with a pillow trying to drown out the sound. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP I siged in defeat and startedI sauntering around the room getting ready for school.
Then, on the desk I saw the crystal. Even though it couldn't of been larger than my thumb, it looked incrediby deep, the colors would just draw you in, temptinng you to look into its deep black center. It was simply mezmerizing. Without thinking I grabbed a chain from another one of my necklaces tore of the fake jewel that hung on it and snatched my crystal. To my surprise, the crystal had a tiny hole, just large enough to fit my chain through. I was supicious for a moment then srugged. I quickly put on the necklace and raced outside to catch the bus, and to start anoter horrible year of high school.
It was first period when weird things started happening. It was Gym and I was reading Iridesence by one of my favorite authors, It was about a girl trapped in a century old war. Some cheerleaders came over twirling their hair and acting all prissy like. One of them snatched the book from me, making me automaticly furious! I started to turn to my black-state. NOBODY INTERRUPTS SAREN STARLO FROM A BOOK. NOBODY!
Then, all of a sudden the ground started shaking, sending the cheerleaders (and their manicures) sprawling back on to the hard floor. They squealed like a four year old who had just saw a enormous bug. I balanced myself against the bleachers I had been leaning on, holding on for dear life. Then the shaking stopped I looked around wide-eyed but nobody seemed to be affected by the earthquake but the cheerleaders and me.
A huge group surrounded the cheerleaders. Some were shouting out worried questions like: "Oh my gosh are you OK??" but most of them were laughing. I felt a smug satisfaction. I somehow felt it was because of me the earthquake happened... I laughed at myself yea right!! it was probably just a tremor, that happened at a VERY good moment.
The day went on surprisingly smoothly...nobody made fun of me and a few people even said hi. For the first time I started to enjoy school. After 6th period a girl came up to me, we had talked a bit in science and she seemed nice enough. She had long black hair almost reaching her waist and glittery green eyes.
"Hey!" she said. "Hi!' I replied. "aren't you in my Gym class?" she asked kindly. "Yep. that's me." I said. "Well uhm... did you drop your book? I found it next to the cheerleaders. I knew it wasn't theirs because those girls have the IQ of a walnut. and this book looks awesome, and doesn't look like it has to do with maincures." She winked and pulled out Iridescence. I thanked her perfusley for returining the book and left to get on my bus.
I climbed up the gray steps to the inside of my bus with a small smile on my face. When I sat down i felt someone grab iridesence out from my hands. I looked over to see Marci the head cheerleader drop iridecence into the muddy road. I cringed as a car ran over it... I felt my eyes change to a deep brown... oh, i forgot to mention that. my eyes change color according too my mood. but only very extreme moods.
Behind me the school began blaring with alarms. I watched in shock as smoke began to curl from the gym roof...

"Do you think she saw us?" asked Elizabeth.
"Nah. I doubt it. She was too focused on that book of hers." Said Gale.
"What about after the fire?" Elizabeth asked eagerly.
"Liz, quit being so impatient! The bus was turned the other way! She'll see us when she sees us." Said Gale becoming annoyed, for a 8 year old trapped in time she could REALLY get on his nerves.
"Besides, if she saw us she'd be scared out of her wits! We have to move slowly so she'll be more inclined to help us."
"But how?" asked Elizabeth with her arms folded and a pout on her face.
"We have to... you know, become visible." Gale said avoiding her eyes.
"NO. NO NUH UH NOT IN A MILLION YEARS WILL I DO THAT AGAIN!" Elizabeth yelled. Last time they tried that she had appeared all right, only without a few limbs...
"Oh come on!! I wont mess up again! honest! look, we have more power now that we're not confined to that stupid gym." Gale really hated that place....
Elizabeth looked skeptically.
"Do you want to be released from this stupid world or NOT?" He asked reasonably.
"Fine." Elizabeth said giving him the stink eye, "but no loss of limbs, deal?"
"Deal." Gale said with a proud smile "Let's go find that girl."
Little did they know, Max, had also been released when the gym caught fire. Lurking in the shadows he waited until Liz and Gale had left. Then he said to himself, "Lets have a little fun with this girl shall we? oh sometimes, I love being dead."
