P R O L O G U E
"Red? What the hell." I retorted as I saw a walking red-hard-headed guy on the hallway.
Wearing his usual cold expression. I can say that he is way too different now. Really.
"Kiela!" Sisitahin ko sana siya nang biglang may tumawag sa'kin. And there I saw Lishy with his boyfriend Leo.
Nasabi ko na ba na 'napaka' ng lalaking 'yan?
"What do you need? I don't have condoms here." I said as I look at them bored.
"What the hell? Hindi naman ako naghahanap ng condoms 'no. May pambili kami niyan." Lishy giggled as he look at his not-so-normal-boyfriend. Napailing nalang ako sa kababuyan ng bestfriend ko.
"Eh bakit kayo nandito?" Tanong kong muli. Nilingon ko ulit ang lalaking binuhusan ng color red sa ulo pero wala na siya kaya binalik ko nalang kay Lishy ang tingin ko.
"Sinong hinahanap mo?" Napansin ni Lishy ang paglingon ko sa hallway. I shrugged.
"Nevermind." I said. Bumuntong hininga siya.
"Well, just want to inform that tonight's my party and you're not allowed to excuse yourself nor use your lying ability to me my pretty bestfriend." She said as she was totally sure na hindi ako pupunta sa party niya.
And excuse me, Im not a liar. Im just good at making reasonable reasons.
"Do I have a choice?" Nakangiwi kong sagot, "anyway, what do you want as a gift? Leo's not allowed." I smirked.
She once forced me to wrapped Leo and give him to her as a GIFT. I don't even know if my bestfriend is still on her mind or what. Masyado siyang adik sa boyfriend niya na kahit birthday niya si Leo ang gusto niyang regalo.
"Nah. Your presence is enough." She smiled at me.
"Parang totoo ah." Pang-aasar ko pa sabay sundot sa tagiliran niya.
"Ofcourse! Were bestfriends. Duh!" Pareho kaming nagtawanan. Natigil lang iyon nang bigla kong matanaw ang lalaking kanina ko pa hinahanap.
"Uhm. Need to go. Bye Lishy! Don't go wild, ok?" Paalam ko at kumaripas ng takbi papunta kay Theo.

"Hoy Theonggo!" Sigaw ko. Agad naman siyang lumingon kaya dali-dali akong lumapit sa kanya.
"Bakit?" Tanong niya. Para siyang antok na antok. Ano bang nangyari dito?
"Have you seen Brian?" Tanong ko. I know I may now look like stupid but I don't have a choice neither.
Umiling siya, "Haven't seen him since her 40th day." Tipid niyang sagot. The way he spoke, it screams sadness.
"But I saw him a while ago. Kaso dumating si Lishy." Napakagat ko sa labi ko at muling nilibot ang paningin ko. But there was no any traces of Brian here.
He chuckled, "You should give up Keila." Napalingon ako sa kanya at napakunot ang noo.
"What do you mean?" Tanong ko.
"Brian made this choice. To be distant from us. He could have been really hurt on what happened. He needs a long time, whining, crying his ass out for him to moved on." Tumigil siya sandali at tipid na ngumiti, "I know my bestfriend Keila. Maybe he's a jerk now. But he is still the Oh-so-nice-guy Brian Parker." And with that, he left me staring at his back.
I know what he's talking about.
Maybe he's right.
I should give up.
I should stop caring, worrying and helping him.
He can do it himself.
And I can feel that he doesn't care anymore.
