Chapter 19
-Awya's POV-
"Mum please!" A sob threatened to escape my lips making me look desperate than I already was. "You are giving me a headache!"
"Shut up Awya, how can you do this to yourself? Look at you!" Her eyes were burning with hatred or fear, I didn't know. My eyes were blurred with the pressure she was exerting on my hand unintentionally hurting me.
"Mum you are hurting me! Please take your hand off of me!" Her face contoured into what looked like disgust and dragged her hand off me muttering a sorry.
"It isn't your face now your hand and leg too, yeah all I wanted was a hunchback for a daughter!"
I couldn't take it anymore. Her words were gauging at my heart. "Mom please!" I sobbed.
"Oh stop doing that every time I start talking to you. You look so desperate. For god's sake you are nothing like me, grow up. Tears can't do shit!"
While silently pleading her to stop, I tried to zone her out.
"Awya are you even listening to me?"
"Yes mum?" She was rummaging through her bag muttering and cursing finally getting hold of her phone.
"I have no time left to discuss this state of yours with the doctors, however I hope you won't end up been a cripple. You are so weak I can't even..."
She couldn't finish her sentence when he crashed in shooting a murderous glare at my mum.
"I think you should leave now Mrs.Welsworth you've spoken enough" His voice thundered across the room and I mentally face palmed at his dramatic appearance but nevertheless I was grateful that he was here. Slowly turning to look at my mum I winced seeing her expression. She was momentarily confused, that I could say. She plastered a fake smile and sized him up and down. "And who are you to order me around in my own daughter's room?".
His famous smirk etched across his face while slowly drawling out word by word "Technically this isn't her room, this is a hospital and Mrs. Welsworth you are clearly distressing my friend."
Her brows furrowed in confusion as she stared at him. "Look here boy I can do whatever I want with my daughter I suggest you should get out before I call the security, now!". Logan did not budge but stared giving her a challenging look. I tried getting his attention while fidgeting with my bandages. His eyes flicked over to mine and I mouthed "please" I do not want any more trouble. He nodded and turned towards my mum who was staring bullets at him. "I'm sorry Ma'am" And swiftly walked out of the room like nothing happened.
She turned towards me with a raised chin and narrowed eyes. "Who is he?" I tried avoiding her burning gaze and continued fidgeting with my bandages. She roughly pulled my chin up so that I was facing her. "Answer me!"
"A friend!" I murmured struggling to get out of her powerful grasp.
"I saw him drunk and all over you the last time. Whoever he is tell him to watch his attitude around me!".
I simply nodded hoping she'll drop it and that she did.
"I won't be able to come again. However I have paid the bills in advance and call this number when you are discharged he will drop you home."
She patted my hand awkwardly flaunting her way towards the door. Sparing another glance in my direction before closing the door shut.
Two weeks later......
"Feeling better?" I stared at the kind hearted man who was smiling at me while examining my now healed leg and arm. The bruises were gone and except for the scar across the right side of my hip bone I was healed. I glanced at it a small smile playing on my lips. I look so bad ass right now.
"Awya?" Dr. Wilson peered into my face. "How do you feel now dear?"
I grinned at him assuring I was much better than I look. "I feel much better now Dr.V, My arm is sore, so is my leg but after using them for a while I think I will be fine!"
He laughed at my over enthusiasm. "Are your parents coming to pick you up?"
"Yes" I lied. He nodded gave me a hearty pat on the back and left me to deal with my packing.
I was about to start getting on with my business humming "Just a friend to you"
"When you say I'm just a friend to you
Cause friends don't do the things we do
Everybody knows you love me too..."My song was interrupted halfway through when a message alert buzzed and lighted my screen.
D-bag: Be ready I'm picking you up in ten.
Me: I can't...I am going with Wicky.
D-bag: Wtf? Don't piss me off on such a good day sweetheart. I'll be there in ten. Be ready or else I'll drag you out with me. Don't try me.
Sigh...here goes another day with him constantly bothering and demanding me.
