chapter 43 - little chat

Kalin's p.o.v.

"I just want to have a little chat little Kally," Lisa says.
Neither Christian nor I move from our positions. Lisa drops her smile.
"I don't speak wolf so change back."
I growl.
"Now!"
Who does she think she is?! She comes into my territory and orders me! I feel my body heat up.
"So the old hah did tell you about how your wolf can create and control fire."
I shift into my human form and run at her with a battle cry. Right before I can touch her, she grabs my back and starts to choke me. Me he starts coughing as if she is the one being choked. I smile grimly as she lets go.
"Cailleach also have me a few tricks," I spit at her.
I turn towards Christian.
Run. I whisper.
He goes without a second thought. I want revenge. Revenge for her killing Joshua, for her killing my pack, for destroying everything I have ever known. It's time for her to feel pain. I face Lisa again.
"Your black eyes don't suit you," she snickers.
"Playing mother doesn't suit you," I snarl.
The wind picks up and swirls around us. My hair smacks me in the face, leaving a sensational sting.
"That's why you were and still are Mother's favorite, you could always play mommy better. Obviously I only get hurt if I hurt you, so I'll come back in about six months when I figure out how to undo this spell."
"That's where you're wrong, if I get hurt so do you. You don't have to cause the pain."
She tsks and I growl.
"I'm betting only on a physical level. I don't feel your hate right now as my proof."
"You're connected to Christian as well. So if he does so do you."
"I knew you weren't that stupid, but I'm pretty sure you left two certain new in-laws out of the bargain?"
I gasp, Brandon and Taysa.
"You wouldn't hurt Brandon, he's your mate."
"No, Emilio is for me, not that copy."
Almost on cue I heat Christian howl in pain. Lisa gives an evil bone chilling laugh. I run at her and change into my wolf. Lisa follows suit. Her wolf is just like mine except her wolf is fire red, like the sun up close.
Let's not do this now. I wouldn't want to hurt you which would cause me pain.
How am I supposed to trust you?! You hurt your own mate! I snarl at her.
I didn't do anything. The hunters are the ones with their hands dirty. She gives another evil laugh.
Hunters? Christian!

She pops away. She has powers too? I can't think about this right now. I need to get to Christian. I close my eyes and imagine him. Suddenly I feel small tingles run up my neck.
I thought she hurt you. Christian whines.
I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry. I sob.
We both change into our human forms. He holds me while I cry.
"It's okay, they were prepared. They knew that she was here," he coos.
"I could've protected them though. It's all my fault."
"No it's not. Before he died he told me that he was finally happy that he and Mom could get out of this mess for good."
"T-the baby though. He or she never got to even live a second," I whisper.
"It will never live knowing that their parents would soon leave."
"In so sorry."
He just shushed me. I cry harder and harder until I finally black out.

I am being gently shaken awake. I open my eyes to see ocean blue ones.
"Good morning beautiful," Christian whispers.
I shoot up. I'm in a bed.
"How did I get here?" I ask.
"I carried you here silly."
He starts playing with my hair.
"What? When?"
"Well I guess I fell asleep softly after you from crying. Jasmyn woke me up after a few hours. She wanted to help me with my pain, something about how she couldn't sleep knowing her Alpha was in pain. I told her no so Cailleach came up to me. She said that she can put the pain somewhere and it would slowly leak it out until it ran out. I told her Okay. After she finished I brought you up here. That was about five hours ago."
"Oh," is all I muster out.
He lets go of my hair and grabs my hands.
"Let's get some breakfast. I'm pretty sure neither of us are much of anything yesterday, if none at all."
I lazily get out of our bed and walk downstairs and into the kitchen, holding his hand the while way.
Theodore and Jasmyn are sitting on a couple of barstools with their backs facing us. I let go of Christian's hand and huh Jaz's back
"Luna?" she asks.
"Please just call me Kalin."
"You okay love?" Theo asks.
"As good as I can be right now."
I see their bowls of Lucky Charms.
"Would you like a bowl baby?" Christian questions.
I not my head and sit on the bar stool next to Jaz.
"So what is on the agenda for today?" I mumble.
"Well I have to clean up Dad's office and the master bedroom has to also be cleaned up," Christian says while swallowing a cry.
"We don't have to do that."
"Yes We to or else it won't be done," he pleads.
"Well what do you want me to do?" Jaz asks.
"You can help Theo round everyone up for now," I instruct.
"But it's only five in the morning," Theo whines.
"Then why the neck am I awake?" I grumble.
"Because we have a lot to do today," Christian replies.
"Then why doesn't anybody else have to get up too?"
I start to pout.
"They do."
Christian gives Theo and Jaz a stern look. They rush off.
"So what else do We have to do today?" I ask.
"We need to hold a pack meeting about what we planned to do on our other half of our territory, I need to look at previous reports on rogues and hunters, we need to discuss if your beta and delta or my beta and delta will take the rightful place, then when that's done we have to discuss training so we're not defenseless against rogues or hunters," he buffs out.
I walk the short distance to jug and hug his back like I did with Jasmyn.
"I can't feed you if you're not sitting down," he whines.
He turns a 180 so that he faces me. I see his mischievous smile on his face. Before I can get a single word put, his lips cover mine. I completely melt into him. Someone behind me clears their throat. They are definitely a male. Both Christian and I growl. I crawl out of his grasp and see who it is. Its none other than Dillion.
"If you wake me up this early then there has to be food," he moans out.
