Once I put the shirt and shorts on I'm covered in his scent, like wildflowers and honey. I close my eyes and think of him holding me and him saying that he will never let go. I smile at the thought but frown at myself. I wanted to be at collage. I even got accepted to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) in California. I lived in North Dakota all my life, so I was ready for the 4 year change. Would Chris accept the fact that I wanted to do something other than run my pack and possibly his too? Most likely not, but it wasn't his decision to make. It was mine, all mine. There is a knock on the door, so I open it to see Chris. He looks so frustrated.
"Sorry to bother you, but how come you didn't say that Katherineis part wolf?"
Katherine? Who is Katherine?
"I don't know what your talking about."
"Katherine, you met her before-"
He just stops. Now he looks mad.
"Before I what?"
"Nevermind, don't worry about it."
I cross my arms.
"Tell me. Before I what?"
I could tell that he sensed that I was getting angry.
"Before you put your tongue down my beta's throat!" he yells slightly.
I kissed some random dude. no, I kissed my mate's beta. Now I remember.
"The blonde girl with too much make-up?" I ask quietly.
I ruined everything last night. I gave something very special away to someone I won't care for as a mate. How could I have been so stupid! I didn't even apologize to the guy I punched.
"Yup," he says looking down.
"I'm sorry."
I feel myself start to swell up with tears.
"For what?"
"Messing things up between us."
He chuckles and lifts up my chin.
"You didn't mess it up Ash, he did."
He kisses me, full on the lips. With Dillion it was wet and mushy, like kissing a dog. With Chris it was soft and sweet but filled with the desire to keep the mating tingles there. Oh how I love these tingles. There is a throat clearing with the sound of a baritone behind us. We separate and see the current Midnight alpha.
